Got this from the Grandamgt.com web-site. Thought it was funny so I'm sharing...
Signs You've Bought A Grand Am
Your tinted windows are also known as "tints."
The car reaches its optimum speed at 111mph.
The hi-tech stereo system is named after a natural disaster.
The rear view mirror falls off often to loud music.
The odometer on the dashboard is tied in to the PCM...or BCM...both? @!#$ it. Switch it out for one with less miles.
Traffic Watch warns other drivers that there's coolant on the highways.
Your car was made by GM.
The sticker on the windshield says, "AEDCentral.com Sux0rz."
You fill up the tank with 87-93 based on your intelligence level.
You can only go to restaurants that you can drive thru.
When you approach hitchhikers, you tell them @!#$tards in the trunk.
Not sure if all that really applied to Grand ams? and some was just plain silly.

yeah most of that was random, could be about any car owner, and was kinda crappy... the coolant thing was pretty good though for grand ams
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

some or j-bodies too lol. theres a trailer trash kid around my area with a stock purple 92ish? Grand AM GT with just 2 Autozone discount (Rice) pipes on the stock exhaust and walmart brand subs and he thinks hes the sh*t, fastest thing on the road let me tell you. Every where he goes he has to leave the system playin as loud as possible even when hes not in the car.. Gets really annoying

That's when you get a brick and bust his window out one night and steal his system. Then systematicly mail it back to him peice by peice.
LOL
No, just kidding....well no, not really.

Your tinted windows are also known as "tints." - - - As opposed to what...?
The car reaches its optimum speed at 111mph. - - - So . . . Ours hits 108? Whats so bad about 111? Its not en Evo.
The hi-tech stereo system is named after a natural disaster. - - - I don't get it?
The rear view mirror falls off often to loud music. - - - Turn the bass down so any car doesn't rattle apart.
The odometer on the dashboard is tied in to the PCM...or BCM...both? @!#$ it. Switch it out for one with less miles. - - - This is bad how? lol
Traffic Watch warns other drivers that there's coolant on the highways. - - - Never heard of anything like this.
Your car was made by GM. - - - Again, point being?
The sticker on the windshield says, "AEDCentral.com Sux0rz." - - - I don't get it?
You fill up the tank with 87-93 based on your intelligence level. - - - So? lots of people put different grades in their tank. Thats why there are options.
You can only go to restaurants that you can drive thru. - - - So cause its a Grand Am, you only do drive throughs? This doesn't even make sense?
When you approach hitchhikers, you tell them @!#$tards in the trunk - - - - Uhhhhh . . . I don't get it.
*shrug* I don't see whats funny, but I just got home from work, lol.

the stereo is a Monsoon stereo.... lol
the bass is rediculous. my friends alero has the same stereo, but even better, and even with the base down, his rear view rattles a bit
his car (same motor. well same car pretty much) leaks coolant like its got a job
you can feel the difference when using 87 or 93 in his car. and its hillarious.
its just one of those things... im sure they have jbody type comments also...
coolant leaks are common...seriously?
I was looking at a REALLY clean 2001 black Grand-Am GT yesterday and am very seriously thinking about buying it. But not if it's a pile of crap.

Lower intake gassssssskkkkkkkkeeeetttttttt. GM had a class action lawsuit filed against it regarding that dilemma with late-model 60 degree V6s (3100, 3400 specifically). Dunno how it played out, but it was a big enough of a problem that people took GM to court.
Hmm do some models of Mailbu's use that engine as well? My gf's mothers 2000 (I think that's the year) Malibu just poured coolant all over the driveway. Not a good thing since it's -25 with the wind chill too.

The Lawsuit is pending AFAIK, but I don't think it's going to pan out. There was a TSB issued about the gasket, and there is even a cheap fix for it from AC Delco (vegetable gasket sealant pellet: break it up into powder, put it into the coolant reservoir after mixing with warmed clean coolant).
What I've heard from a dealer mechanic was that you need to tighten the LIM nuts down to about 50 ft/lbs before the first 10,000 kms elapse... mind you, that's no guarantee.
I can tell u yes malibu's with the 3.1 v6 DO have a issue with upper intake manifold gasket leaking. My mom n law has a 98 starting using coolant (leak) and took about 3 months to finally narrow it down to exactly where it was leaking due to it did so randomly. She had the gasket replaced for a chunk of money.
Here's how it should read...
Signs that you've bought a Grand Am...
-You (or your repair shop) are all too familiar with the workings of your inner window track mechanism
-If owning a V-6 model, you look at intake gasket replacement as "routine maintenance"
-Owners of pre 2003 models see the lack of trim on the newer models as an upgrade.
-You've resigned to the fact that "GT" doesn't really mean anything special on a Grand Am
-You actively scour salvage yards looking for a pristeen Olds Alero interior to swap into your car
Currently #4 in Ecotec Forced Induction horsepower ratings. 505.8 WHP 414WTQ!!!
Currently 3rd quickest Ecotec on the .org - 10.949 @ 131.50 MPH!!!

HAHA. this is correct. my mom is a die hard grand am owner. she is on her 3rd, and loves them. all of these, except the last one describes her exactly
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

Exactly...
I got that from the grandamgt.com web-site. And I thought some of it was funny. And yes it was all random. But you have to driven, owned, or had a grand am V6 to understand a few of them.
I thought some of you guys would get a chuckle out of it, so I posted it here.
