Wards Top Ten Engines of 07

Audi AG: FSI 2.0L turbocharged DOHC I-4 (Audi A3)
BMW AG: 3.0L turbocharged DOHC I-6 (335i Coupe)
Daimler AG: 3.0L DOHC V-6 Turbodiesel (Mercedes E320 CDI)
Ford Motor *** 4.6L SOHC V-8 (Mustang Shelby GT/Bullitt)
General Motors Corp.: 3.6L DOHC V-6 (Cadillac CTS)
General Motors Corp.: 6.0L OHV V-8 Hybrid (GMC Yukon Hybrid)
Honda Motor Co. Ltd.: 3.5L SOHC V-6 (Accord Coupe)
Mazda Motor Corp.: 2.3L DISI turbocharged DOHC I-4 (Mazdaspeed3)
Nissan Motor Co. Ltd.: 3.7L DOHC V-6 (Infiniti G37)
Toyota Motor Corp.: 3.5L DOHC V-6 (Lexus IS 350)

Personally I would not put BMW's engine in the list since it is prone to over heat and go into limp home mode when driven aggressively, but what ever.

arent most of those carry overs from previous years ?

i dont see anything that stands out over the others , the only with a possibility i think its gonna be the GM 6.0 only because of the hybrid

This is a 100% serious question, and not an insult towards either configuration:

Is GM the only automaker left producing an OHV engine for new applications?

1989 Z24 Convertible - Dust Covered
2006 tC - Dust Covered, but driven more

I'm surprised not to see the I6 (the ones they put in T-blazers ect...) they were on that list since 2002.. but those engines are good to know though.

**changes are here**

Ford is supposedly going to be making a OHV motor again.

I hope so, seeing how disappointing their OHC motors are...

I have to say... Im very surprised the VW/Audi 2.0T is the #1 engine... for being a 2.0 liter turbo charged, intercooled, direct injection engine with variable valve timing just a hair over 200 hp/tq is kinda sad... not to mention the problems... the intake manifold runner controls are total @!#$, VW knows they are @!#$, they kept changing them and coming out with new designs which were still @!#$... by the time they finally made something work they had tons and tons of tons of defective designs that they just kept giving out to get rid of there stock before they start giving out the ones that actually work. The recirc. valve (BOV) is a piece of @!#$, the diaphragms in the valve tear left and right, the A/C compressors have a tendency to self distruct, the fuel pressure sensors have on the high pressure pump leak fuel internally and short out. Not to mention last night I finished putting an intake camshaft in one because the high pressure fuel pump ate the lobes right off the cam. The coils crap out alot, the breather system casues boost leaks and lack of power. And to top it off.... they actually have a noise maker pipe that runs into the cowl... the soul purpose of it is to make more "engine noise" inside the car (only on certain 2.0T models) Plus if you don't run a quality brand premium grade fuel all the time it'll misfire regularly, especially when cold.

Granted a 2.0T with a GIAC chip matted to a DSG trans can be alot of fun when everythign actually works right..... but damn... if thats the number 1 engine, all I can do is laugh

That is pretty weak for a turbo DI motor.

I don't think its #1 just alphabetical.

^ ^ ^ ^ I read it and it sounded about right. Some stuff i didn't know (the 'noise maker' was new LOL) I love the A4 but man I have heard nothing but bad (mechanical failure wise) stuff about every VW in the past 10 years. My nissan is going on 19 years old an it runs perfect and has never given me any trouble. Mind you it only has 45, 000 miles on it but whatever.

^Correct.
And a VERY GOOD engine indeed. But expect to pay a hefty premium for that engine.
