I just bought this 1986 3/4 ton c20 2wd BBC 454 from my buddy, Im not really big into v8's so Im looking for a forum to catch on to some of the performance mods I can do. I realize the sky is the limit with the motor, its basically a stock rebuild punched .30 over with 1 3/4'' headers without cats and an edelbrock carb. Also has an MSD pro distributor, blaster coil, and ignition box.
Im thinking I'll start with an intake manifold, then move on to the top end with a new cam, lifters, and rockers. I'd like to leave the heads and internals alone for right now, maybe regear the rear end (not sure whats in it now) and add a shift kit. those are just some ideas, but I'd like to find a forum board mainly for the motor and trans so it doesn't need to be a silverado only board.

Truck engine is different than car engine. Block is taller and heads have small ports.
