Is it worth it?

Well, heres my issue. I'm trying to figure out whether to keep my 92 Blazer S-10 or get rid of it. It runs well, but does have its issues. First of all it has 185,000 miles, the ABS is shot, not sure what the issue is there, is has SOME rust, nothing too serious, but it has rust around the passengers side rear quarter by the tail pipe. The cluster is busted and needs fixed, its digital so it'll cost me a little more than normal, and it needs an entire new suspension. The backseat needs replaced due to one of the seat locks disengaging, so theres only 1 side holding the back seat up. Also one of the seatbelt locks are busted.

I want to keep it, but i'm pondering getting rid of it due to the cost of getting it back to 100%

So, what do you guys think?

If it's a 4x4 turn it into an offroad vehicle.

A truck will last forever. None of the issues you mentionned are serious. Just keep driving it, fixing the cluster, seatbelt lock and rear seat with used parts that you swap yourself. Keep it for hauling stuff and as a daily driver. There's no point in investing money to make it pretty unless you want a show truck. I'd just drive the thing into the ground. What's nice about a truck is that no matter how rusted it is it can't really "break" like a car will. So no matter how badly it's screwed up, you'll always be able to deal with the problems. I knew a guy with a 1995 Ford truck with a 302 whose computer died. Instead of replacing it, he exchanged all the Fuel Injection parts for a 2 barrel carb, cheap truck manifold, low pressure fuel pump (and other related stuff) and just swapped the engine to a carb. Total cost to him: Zero. (He actually made a few bucks I think.)

Keep it as a daily driver. Best advice I can give you.

If it's a 4.3L/4WD, hell yes keep it. That vintage of truck might have some electronic/aesthetic problems, but they're as mechanically solid as you can get. Plus, there were only around 8 billion of them produced, meaning you can fix your seat/seat belt issues with boneyard parts for next to nothing. I'm not incredibly knowledgable on these trucks, but you could always look into the possiblity of a digital to analog dash swap.

ABS...don't worry about it. I know an individual that has put over 110K on an S10 AFTER the ABS light went on.

As for the rust...as long as it's not coming through to the interior, I woudn't worry about it.
