Ok, so I was trying to hook up some aftermarket speakers into my 98 Legacy..... and noticed a small issue. When I would plug in the speaker into the factory plug (which, oddly enough, worked fine getting it plugged in), I got absolutly no sound from the door speaker, nor the tweeter on that side. Now, the speakers are from an Infinity Reference componet set, but I didnt get the crossover that was needed. Now, a couple of things..
a. Do I really need that crossover?
b. Does anyone know where I can get a pass. side power window switch? Front pass. side is the one thats needed.
Thanks JBO

Chances are the speakers dont match because they are not 4Ohm or whatever your system outputs. Plug in your factory speaker and make sure the line still works and its not cut, I know i managed to cut mine in the door.
They have crossover
here. (im sure you could find them outthere that may better fit your purpose.
But, you will need a 4ch amp to use that.
You need highs to the tweeters, mid/low to the woofer cone.
Yea, I already put back in the stock speaker...and that works fine. The only thing I managed to do was break that swtich (which, I am still in need of)

Also, my car does have a stock amp as well, im just not sure of the output from it or not... is there a way to test that?

don't thank JBO... you answered your own question.
the crossover is needed for the tweeter , not really needed for the bigger cone speaker
the stock speaker should have a ohm rating on it , example 4 ohm
being you didnt get a crossover , im guessing the speakers are used , and most likely blown , even if your system is a 8ohm stable system it would work with the 2 or 4 ohm infinities at lower volume levels , they would just over heat the amp and cause it to shut down faster
Yea... the tweeter has a stock connection in the door as well....
And yes, speakers are used, but they aren't blown. Friend of mine had em, and I heard em before I actually bought em. But thanks for the good info
