I wanna stress that any opinion I have is my own and only my own. I don't pretend to have anyone's taste but my own. Some people my totally disagree with what I think and, to be honest, they're probably more right than me. So I'm not saying this as fact, it's just what I all by myself think.
Anyway.
My list basically includes the more obvious choices: 1967 Mustang Shelby, 1969 Camaro, 1970 Charger, 1970 Challenger, 1957 Chevy, 1966 GTO, 1964 Jaguar E-Type, 1996 Viper GTS, 1994 VW Corrado, 1994 Porsche 911 Turbo, 1994 BMW M5, 2008 Bugatti Veryron, 1987 Ferrari F40, 2008 Aston-Martin DBS, 1993 Mazda RX7...
But the number one, most beautiful car in the world. The one that blows all of those away?
1969-72 (Ferrari) Dino 246 GT
I mean look at it! Not a bad angle on the whole thing. It's not a car, it's a work of freaking art!
You are right, I totally disagree with most of your list. But that is MY opinion. I think an Austin Martin would definately be in the running though. Possibly the DB9 or Vanquish. The Jag e-type I think is also on alot of peoples' lists.
Some of my favorites would be a 1966 Alpha Romeo Giulia Sprint special, I too love the 69 Camaro. My modern day favorites would be the Acura TSX and RSX, the C6 Corvete is a beautifull machine too.
94-96 Mitsubishi GTO/3kgt VR4 (will own this car someday)
03+ TVR Tuscan S (will move to Britain and own this vehicle as well someday)
Porsche 996 GT2
Saturn Sky/Opel GT
McLaren F1
Zonda Roadster
BMW E46 M3

"Youth in Asia"...I don't see anything wrong with that.
I actually agree with your list for the most part... you have good taste.....
my #1 goes to this
Aston Martin DBS

Wait a minute now, don't get confused between "Beauty" and "Power", or "Goodness". My top pick, the Dino 246 GT makes about 195 brut horsepower (Equivalent to about 135 net hp in today's measuring system.) and weighs about 2380lbs. So an Ecotec J-body technically makes more power and probably brakes better. The Dino might have a slight advantage in the curves, but I wouldn't be betting any money that the old Ferrari could surpass the J. The Dino's slow, brakes like crap, the clutch feels like it's from a truck, the steering's heavy and imprecise, that damn gated shifter ruins almost every 1-2 gear change. But... it's beautiful, so it doesn't matter. It'd be like asking a supermodel to run track or lift weights. You don't care if she can or not.
The LSX motor is an incredible engine and the 97 Vette is a good looking car, but do you think it's the most beautiful car? That's the thing. Beauty can be slow, easily breakable and crap on the track.
Lemme give an example: The 1995-2002 Sunfire is a more beautiful car (in my opinion) than the 1987-1992 Toyoya Supra. Yet the Supra is faster, more agile, tougher, more comfortable and just better in every way than the J. But I don't
care, because the J looks a hell of a lot better.
Oh, and dude
Am not trying to demean your choice or yourself. Am just trying to keep the thread on course is all. I didn't want it to turn into the "Fastest"/"Best" car thing. I'm really curious about what people think is the most beautiful car.
In any case, the 1997 Vette is a fine choice. It is a very pretty car.
Detomaso Pantera any year although my personal favorite is the last years in production models they built, 1970 Mustang, 1987 Monte Carlo LS, 1973 Monte Carlo, Porsche 928, 1988 Fiero GT, Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto, 1978-82 Corvette, 1969 Charger, Fiat 500, Lancia Stratos, 1960(?) Ferrari GTO, Ferrari 348, Lamborghini Countach, Vector WX3, 1970-72 & 76-77 Olds Cutlass.
I like some cars that are a bit weird looking but its not just for their performance I really do like their looks. My favorites include Ferrari's 288 GTO (and the original GTO's too, and GM's GTO's for that matter), Dino, F40, Alpha's 8C, Lambo's Miura, Porsche 959, 80's El Camino's w/ the Choo Choo Customs front ends, First Gen Camaros w/ hideaway lights, the new Lotus Europa and I guess the list could go on and on like everyone else's so I'll leave it at that.

Honestly, I'm a sucker for older cars. Pretty much anything from the 30's-mid 60's is beautiful in my eyes. The one I'm going to say is the most beautiful however is this:

I'm going to stick with a Ferarri of a similar vintage, but slightly different:
'64-68 275. I almost put up another one of your nominations, the Jaguar E-Type.
For a personal vote:
'87-88 Fiero GT. GM could tweak less than 10% of the exterior features and sell it today, as is, without looking outdated. Too bad the interiors reeked of '80s.
1989 Z24 Convertible - Dust Covered
2006 tC - Dust Covered, but driven more
^ ^ slow down there Steve McQueen!
I really like the 240Z or Datsun 1600 roadster as far as older cars go.
But the new ferrari 430 I probably the most beautiful car I have ever seen

I'm going to have to go with the 997 gt2. It's hard to choose,
I know I keep changing the 99? models of Porsche, but ... they really don't do anything wrong body wise.
dan
53 Buick Skylark
Second place goes to:
55 Chrysler C-300, start of the Hemi
and hell, while I'm at it, third place:
59 Cadillac Convert
First time i saw one of these cars i fell in love with them
Ahh.. The AC Ace
Nice body... Too bad it was saddled with a Ford powerplant.
Also added to the 997 gt2 ...
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this ...
1964 Lincoln Continental

I like it! Tho I think I am a lil biased, being that I love my 280z and the tear drop body style is quite close, hell there are even body kits to make the z look like a dino.
One of my favorites is sunb1rd's sig, its ugly as sin but god damn, there is just something about it that I can't get enough of. Its the ugly duckling that handles like a ferrari. Or so I have been told.
Oh and by the way, ur list kicks ass. I have quite a few to add to it but that's a whole nother post!
I forgot to put on my list the Lotus Esprit V8 GT, the old ones, and the new one too. I always loved this car, and a few months ago I finally saw one in person, and now I love it even more.
