I figured since this is regarding another car part, I would post this here.
My question is what kind of bulbs go in the projector part of a cadillac CTS's headlights and what is the part number for the socket they would go in?? I'm gonna try to use them as foglights in my cavy but I got the projectors out of a busted headlight I found at work and there wasnt a bulb nor a socket so I need to know those things before i can proceed any further with the project..
Also I'm wondering if the bulb getting wet from being outside of the headlight will do anything to it.. I don't know anything about bulbs and that sort of thing so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I forgot to comment on this part. You'd have to seal them to keep out moisture, and they would pit/ crack easily since projectors are made from glass.
In other words, it's not really good idea. You should hit up Josh @ izntrbl.com for some advice on your foglight project. He'll give you better advice than I possibly could. Good luck man, it sounds like an interesting project

Thanks for the insight.. I think I may just see if I can't find a clear lense and build a housing of somesort around the projector.. but yeah, as stated before.. should be an interesting project..
another question I have is, will I even be able to power the bulbs.. like if I wanted to wire them up the same way as the stock fogs would have been if my car had of came with them? the way I have it thought out in my head seems simple enough.. but maybe I'm missing something which is what I'm hoping someone can point out if so..

umm its hid's they use ballasts and such please do a little research before you get too deap into this!
lol exactly. you really need to do some research.
- Lights need to be sealed properly.
- Glass lenses pit and chip.
- HID bulbs need ballasts

Not all projectors are hid. On my fathers 2007 sts neither the high, low, or fog projector is hid they are all halogen. Just like newer kia's hyundais and the toyota camary

HID Projectors and Halogen projectors are different from one another. If your projectors are from a non-HID equipped CTS its a Valeo 9006 series Halogen projector where OEM-HIDs in the CTS are D1S projectors. You'll have to use an HID 9006 series kit to put HID's in the 9006 projector, it wont fit OEM D2S or D1S bulbs properly so ur light output will be off.
seems every one else telling people to do some research need to do some of their own
