will a 5x114 wheel fit on a car that takes 5x115 since the numbers are so close? Please forgive my ignorance

i would assume not....since thats the distance between the lugs....the holes on the wheels wont match up

yes and no , if the hub of the rim clears , then it will sit flat on the drum/rotor

you will be able to lugs on and tight , but they wont seat right in the wheels , if you can find the lug nuts with the loose seat its the best way to go

its common for people to use the ford 4 1/2" pattern on the GM 5x115

alot of people will tell you to never do it , and alot will say they have never had any issues

expect to get broken studs from time to time , and keep a weekly check on the lugs to make sure they stay tight

Take your wheel off. Try and see if it fits.

It may work. Try it out.

Keep in mind, though, that even though the bolt patterns may be close, the backspacing and other dimensions of the wheel might not match up accurately. If that happens, you may have problems fitting around brake calipers, etc.

Best thing to do is to go ahead and try.

People have been arguing about this for ages:
Most people say that a 5x114.3 lug pattern is actually the same as the 5x115
Some say they won't.

In my experience, the 5x114.3 is so damn close to the 5x115 that it's a toss up as to whether or not it'll work for you personally, just try it and see.
