Since when? I thought the manufacturer claimed 198.
jesus christ
one day.... it will be mine
Awesome to still see them going strong after the loss of John a while back....that's a badass machine.
It's a shame they abondoned their plans of getting into the sport-compact scene with the Cavalier too.

why wait ? its what makes wet dreams , so you can have it now and later , LOL
You know what Ford stands for , don't you.
There is nothing better than an irresponsible car.
Here it is at the sema show:
i figure i should just go out and buy one, sign all the paperwork for the loan and everything. To be totally honest, you put me in that machine, I'm gonna do something stupid and die in it. Once I'm dead, the loan isn't my problem.

Since C&D got a hold of it on the Autobahn.
Quote:
But the F430 isn’t just an engine and transmission looking for a car, which could be said about Ferraris of yore. Like the Porsche, control weights and feel are superb: The steering is a touch light but compensates with its accuracy and feedback, and the brake pedal is solid and linear, allowing you to modulate the powerful ceramic-composite brakes with precision. (The $22,000 option was fitted to this car, but our test numbers came from an F430 with the standard steel brakes.) You expect such a racy, hard-edged car to ride like a Roman chariot, but the F430 is supple on the highway in sport mode, and it tracks down the road with unerring accuracy. While I was white-knuckling my way to an indicated 207 mph in the Corvette, VanderWerp was relaxed and at ease while maxing the Ferrari to 186. And although the engine is happy to be revved to eight grand, it also pulls from as low as 2000 rpm without hesitation.

holy sh t.... if my calculations are correct, a 25 second mile run puts this car at about mid 6's in the 1/4 mile. WOW. if of course it can hook up...
yikes... i need one of those...
that car is even better in person.... my old man saw it when he was dropping of his C6 zo6 to have that 800hp kit put on... ahah but even with ours with their 800hp TT kit is sickingly fast... i could not imagine 1300hp... honistly when i can light the tires up at 190-200km's (like not just spin but enialate them) i would be scared @!#$ less to drive one with 1300hp...
The First Twin Charged jbody
blue car (R.I.P) - 240whp @7psi..
silver car - 305whp 315lbs.tq @15psi (91 Octane) or 420whp & 425lbs.TQ @20psi (94 octane+Alcohol Injection)
All dynos run on a Mustang dyno

same here...... i mean.... seriously.... i would die in something like that
but hell it would be worth it
you know what the coolest thing about this car is? The fact its a chevy...... and that it would annihilate just about any exotic sports car you throw at it
I read somewhere that the calculated top speed on that car is arround 300. and gm only claims 198 on a stock z06

I hope you weren't dividing 25 by 4. 1300 hp in a 7 liter with the fairly small coef of drag from the Vette would be closer to high 7's on drag slicks/ wheely bar with no wheel spin.
Anyways, yeah, this car doesn't need to exist. No one will ever be able to put down even half of that horsepower to the ground on the street (unless you're driving on the Autobahn). They really should have just gone all the way and made it into a full race car.

"Youth in Asia"...I don't see anything wrong with that.
Shutup...Its exsists because someone wants it, like most of us, bragging rights, ability or whatever....there is a reason to have one built... They didnt need to make a race car, so why the hell would they...
Do you need a car like that? Heck no.
Do you want a car like that? HELL YES!
This is the justification for a lot of things in the automotive world that flop and fly. If you only went with what you really NEEDED we'd all be riding bicycles.
