You know, I agree with everything that all of you have said.
i cant wait to unlesh a 12 pack of heinie on one! (you know pee on one
)
whatever, i like the look of it
I'm not saying that it doesn't look good, but I do think they are pumping out too many variants without a specific purpose. To me, this is just as bad as the (once) over-hyped Shelby GT. I mean in the past when a car company released a special edition of a car, it was something special. Ford just seems to be pumping out variant after variant in an attempt to bleed people out of their money, not for anything significant. To me, this is just as bad as Chevrolet putting SS badging on every car in their lineup.
I think instead of offering all of this variants, they should be like an optional package that you can have tacked on to the vehicle...especially if you are special ordering one.
Just my .02
You know, the specs list "red brake calipers" twice, but the pic doesn't even have them...
fortune cookie say: better a delay than a disaster
I really like this version, I like it a lot actually.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed that. And I'd like to add to what James was saying. I know Ford is desperate for money and they have to preserve the Mustang as a profit machine to float it for a bit. But to whore it out IMHO just cheapens the brand. I think they should pace themselves and follow the model that Mazda did with the early Miatas. Only do limited or special models once a year, and make them truely limited. Like Mazda used to offer one "special" color on the 1st gen Miatas in limited quantities once a year. One year it was a dark metallic wine, another British Racing Green, another yellow...and so on.
Ford should slow down with all the different special models, just concentrate on upping their quality and just offer special mustangs once a year. On a semi-related note, i personally love this special Bullitt car. Sadly i'm not AS excited because they pump out so many different (same) Mustangs at a time it's just not exciting to me any more.

it looks like a green mustang with gay vents.... fords way of trying to add on another 5k to the sticker but adding a different name besides GT?
lol is the bullet option unwarranted dued to the ford performance parts installed like their other "special mustangs"
12.5@116 2.0 60ft
There ARE way too many Mustang editions.
With that said, this one is my favorite yet. It's clean, simple, understated. Plus, I really love the green color.
I'd rock one in a heartbeat!

The bullit, when it was brought into the New Edge mustangs was supposed to be a less-frills, slightly higher performance mustang. It is essentialy supposed to be a throw back to the old fastbacks. No spoiler, No grille, those famous bullitt wheels, more performance mods to put it a step ahead of the GT while being much sexier while doing it. I think the new edge Bullitt is much sexier than this new one, i actualy don't like this new body style as much at all though.
As for the bitching about all the different variants of mustangs, i can agree to a point..
Rousch- Rousch gets his hands in on a body kit and bolts on some performance parts to make a mustang GT better, and it gets its own name.
Bullitt- Well I think it's a kick ass car. Way better looking and performing than a regular GT.
Saleen- Again, it's a body kit available to buy yourself, and some bolt on performance parts that are also available to buy. Why do you get to bolt some stuff on and throw stickers at it and get it's own designation in the line up?
Cobra- Well, no one can argue with the Cobra. A kick ass car all around. Best off the line mustang there is as far as the newer ones go IMO.
Mach1- Well, I think this has too many similarities to a bullit... kinda just a tiny step above a GT and realy didn't need to come about with all the others.
There is my take on it, it all comes down to loving that they are doing another Bullitt.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

Well I think at the moment Ford has presently 4 special or limit edition Mustangs out there in the market that one can buy if they want to. I'm counting the Shelby Mustangs in this count because I believe they are more Ford tuned (can't think of the right word here) than Shelby.
** Shelby GT500 - Everyone heard about this already I'm sure.
** Shelby GT - Retail version of the Shelby GT-H of 2006. Shares body kit parts & wheels, and I think exhaust upgrades with the Mustang GT/CS. Has FRPP suspension and Cold Air Intake. Alleged power is 319 horses, but I've read about stock S197 GTs beating this Shelby Mustang pretty easily.
** Warriors In Pink Mustang Edition - Also called the Mustang Sally Edition by others. Limited edition v6 Mustang, which is basically a v6 Pony Package Mustang with pink exterior and interior accents. Money from the sale of these Mustangs go to a good cause so I can't fault Ford here.
** Mustang GT/CS - Special edition appearance package for the Mustang GT. It gets every thing that the Shelby GT Mustang has except for the suspension upgrades, CAI, and I believe exhaust set up (I think it gets the polished tips from the Shelby GT exhaust).
Then you throw in the upcoming Bullitt for 2008, which has some striking similarities to the Shelby GT Mustang (give or take some appearance mods, as well as the tail lights being an exclusive to the Bullitt with the clear strip across all 6 lenses). Then after that you have the Shelby GT500 Super Snake and Shelby GT500 KR Mustangs that are both set to debut for the 2009 model year. That would be 7 special or limit edition Mustangs Ford would have in the market if all of these variants were to stay in production through that time. To me, I think having 4 different special edition vehicles in the market now is too much, having seven within the next couple of years is just overkill. Not to mention some of these cars just seem to over lap in parts more than anything else. Example, someone could get a Mustang GT/CS for a lot cheaper than they could a Shelby GT Mustang (due to markup) buy all the parts featured on the Shelby GT that aren't on the GT/CS and have an exact clone. Same thing can be done using a standard GT as well.
I know the Mustang is one of Ford's cash cows but just as Jookycola stated earlier, pumping out all of these variants without a specific purpose just weakens the brand.

Once again ford is whoring its past for success, rather than inventing new success
i don't care i like it... and that takes a lot for me to like a mustang.. stick a blower on that thing and call it a day
and its better for ford to make 100 variants and keep the price reasonable, than to see a 41k stickered gt on a dealer lot because of all the "stuff" they stuck on it
** FOR SALE**

i still think people overlook that the bullitt, although only mild, IS VERY limited in production...
