Upgraded from a white 1992 Plymouth Acclaim. Upgraded to a 1999 Legacy Outback while keeping my Sunfire. There is a pic of the Outback in my profile, no easy to obtain pics of the Acclaim.

I started in 1998 with my Z24


After the thing blew 5 engines and 2 transmissions I dumped that thing. My neighbor was selling a 1995 Geo Tracker 4x4 for $1000. It was loaded and only had 30,000 miles on the odo...so it was 7 years old when I bought it in 2003 and was practically new still.


About 8 months later I moved from Michigan back to California and my buddy was about to have his second kid so his wife was making him sell his toy.
A 1991 Honda CRX HF with a JDM b18c5 swapped from an ITR. I was crazy fast, I made him an offer and drove it for about a year and a half...but it was nearly impossible to get smogged and when I’d get it done "under-the-table" they usually bent me over with no lube. So I sadly decided to sell it before I had to get it smogged again.



oddly as part of the sale of the CRX the guy gave me $5000 cash and a 1998 Suzuki Sidekick. It had some suspension problems up front and a busted tie rod. He said he hit a curb at 35mph and busted up all kinds of stuff. I just decided to go crazy with the truck and replaced the entire suspension with Calmini 3 inch suspension lift and 3-inch body lift. It was awesome looking and off-roaded like a friggin goat. But it was an automatic and the 33x10.50 tires I added dogged the truck down so that it was nearly impossible to drive it on the road...let alone up a steep hill. I really wish I had put this kit on my white 5-speed instead; they make corrective gears for that for the 5-speeds. But at this point I had 2 suzukis and really desired having an actual car again.


So I sold the big Suzuki and went project hunting. Living in L.A. I knew there were certain things I wanted from this car. First it had to be an automatic (so I could sit in hours of traffic comfortably) But I wanted it to be punchy still for when I was not in traffic. I wanted cold A/C and RWD. And most important, I wanted it to be cheap enough I could pay cash for it and start throwing toys at it right away. I came across an amazingly clean 1990 Thunderbird SC for $2000. So I jumped on it and was awesome.

It was meant to be my toy for the next year or so till the new Camaro came out, but about 3 months after I moved back to Detroit it was stolen and never recovered...go figure. So for a while there it was just the white Geo Tracker, but I took over the lease for a 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara from a friend and will drive that till February of 2008 when I’ll either just get a Vette or decide to wait it out for the Camaro or GT-R.

And at this point i'll most likely keep the White Tracker because it's super reliable, clean still, cheap on gas and insurance...and most important i don't mind throwing a dirty bike or camping/beach gear, or a super shedding dog in it, or take it off-roading/mud bogging. All things I would NEVER put in or do in my next car. So i'll need to keep a beater around.

1988 Chevrolet Corsica - My First Car and the slowest car I've ever owned. This is a stock photo, my Corsica was dark grey with a lot of rust across the hood, roof and body.


Upgraded to...

1999 Hyundai Accent GL - My First New car ever purchased and the 2nd slowest car I ever owned. This is a stock photo, my car was a 4 door Warm Silver sedan. I probably had the most fun driving in this car. Don't know if it was because I was trying to be "cool" and cruise in an Accent. It might have been the fact this car only came with a tape deck, so I had to get a little "ghetto" and make me some mix tapes from my CD collection, then cruised on the highway with a tape deck case full of mix tapes wedged between the front passenger and front driver seats since I didn't have a center console, the same way I remember my older cousin cruisin' in the early 90s when he had his sports car. Fond memories, indeed.


Upgraded from that to...

2003 Chevrolet Cavalier - My first coupe, and the one that led me to the .Org. I made a couple long time friends from having this car and being directed to the .Org. Not the slowest, nor the fastest but it just kinda slipped under the radar which was fine with me. Never got to mod this car like I wanted.

2006 Ford Mustang

Got her while Ford was doing their annual year end clearance so I was able to score 0% financing for 72 months. Without out a doubt the best car all-around that I've owned thus far. Had her for about six months before I got into an accident (hit a deer on the interstate) so I upgraded her looks a bit and now she looks like this...



I've done a little bit of upgrades since then but not much. Waiting to get some debt paid down before I start buying some performance minded parts for her.

While not exactly an upgrade, I did pick up a 2003 Ford Mustang v6 as my daily driver, while my '06 becomes my weekend cruiser/project car.



I have plans for this Mustang as well but as my dad has been making rumblings of buying this car from me, I may let him take over payment while I go for another car...such as Charger SXT or Nissan Altima Coupe as my daily driver.

Started with a 1990 APV Lumina Van in 1999...Not my picture, but a representation. Mine was Marron. Sold it with 199,990 Miles in 2002.

Then in 2001 got my 99 Z24 Cavalier. Still own with 123,000 miles on her.

Then in 2004 got a 1995 White Geo Prizm. Not actual Picture, but close. Got rid of at 175,000 Miles in 2006.

Then got my 2006 HHR. She has 23,500 on her now.

first car was a 91 Grand am coupe. loved that car!

then that blew up while i was in college so i picked up a 91 Corsica for $700 to get me around until i got done with school. Then as soon as i graduated i picked up the brand new 03 cav.

now thats my project car and i have an 07 Equinox.

come March 08 ill be picking up a new colorado or silverado to be my next project car

Then I bought my Jeep Wrangler which I still currently own.



Daily driving the Jeep 80 miles a day takes it toll so picked this up for work. 1988 BMW 325

First Car: 1995 Olds Cutlass Supreme "Christine" as in the Steven King Novel, got rid of it after the half shaft left loose in a corner, causing me to go into spin, luckily, no real damage.

Second Car: 2004 Pontiac Sunfire: not my choice, ok car, but size, crappy-ness, and generally un appealing car to drive led me to get rid of it for my new pride and joy

Current Car: 2007 Titanium Gray MazdaSpeed6 Grand touring, everything the Sunfire wasn't: Leather, quality interior, awesome handling, plenty of power, fun car to drive, nice car to ride in. (you can pick these up for a steal right now)

Started out with a 1984 Nissan/Datsun 200SX (no pic, sorry).

In 1997 got (the pic is from 2004, it was brand new/stock when I got it)...

Which is now my wife's daily driver.

In 2007 the Cavalier, which was returned to stock, was sold, and I purchased...



So as of now there are 3 cars in the household. The Sunfire is on jack stands in the garage, where it has been for the better part of a year. One of these days I'll finish putting it back together and get it back on the road. It will probably be sold at that point, but that is not definite yet. If it does get sold, something else will most likely be purchased as a project vehicle. I have a few ideas, but no plans until I get to that point.

Started:
1986 Toyota 4 Runner pickup: had a pissant 4 cylinder, no bed for the first week that I owned it, and even better, it was rusting with only 36,000 KM on the clock.. Lovely. The passengers' seat mounts rusted out, and instead of having that area empty, I got the brain wave to weld in a 2 drawer filing cabinet. Worked fine for about 8 months, then for some reason the sucker died. Sold that for parts.

1986 Pontiac Sunbird sedan SE... started with 86,000 km, and door bottom rust. Replaced the doors, got it painted from 2 tone brown to black. Kept it for about 3 years. It's death knell came when I was sprinting to college one winter when a woman in the fast-lane decided to not keep up with everyone and do 80 KMH instead of 110 that everyone else was doing... unfortunately, I also didn't have winter tires, and didn't know there was black ice... I sent that sucker over a guard rail that turned down at the ground. bent the hell out of basically everything, but it was about $1000 to fix everything so I drove the piss out of it until it died when I traded up to:

1988 Buick Regal GS Coupe. Fun car, owned it for a whole month before I found out it had the beginnings of a pisser of a rust problem, whereupon I went to:

1998 Pontiac Sunfire SE... This was the car that was going to get me through most of the next 3 years. And I didn't modify it even a little bit. Mainly because I had no money, and Gas was expensive at 58 cents a Litre. Great Car, loved it. When my lease ended I went to a

2000 Pontiac Grand Am SE 2dr 2.4TC. The beginning of teh GAM. Had that for the better part of 3 years (with no mods, again, starting into work, had my first place... and no money again), Traded up to

2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT (GAM in full-effect) coupe. This I had lightly modified with a K&N filter, Y rated tires (I think they were Nittos, but don't quote me) and the MAF Screen delete. Nothing heavy or anything that would f**k up my warranty. Loved this for about 2 years into my lease, but when I finally saved enough for the house, I needed to drop the lease on this for something I could own which was...

2000 Pontiac Grand Am SE Sedan. It was my sisters, but she was having problems with it (because she pounds on her cars, and wonders why they never work out for her) had this for 6 months, finally this thing gave up the ghost and burned to the ground... after someone lit it up. No mods, nothing invested into it which led me to:

1995 VW Golf ... with a 2.sl0w litre motor. This was a rebuild, and it was a BAD idea to buy it because it was a litter box on wheels. I put a new stereo in it, and sold it a week later. This thing would decide to not start, it'd die mid-way to work... whatever... it had a cool body kit (that got trashed after they took the picture of it but before I bought it... handy that) and Hella conversion headlights (which weren't all that great). I only paid $4000 for it, but that was too much for 170,000 kms. I sold it for $4600, but that was smogged and safetied. I'm still wondering WHAT THE F*CK I was thinking... Any how, I went from that to

2000 Olds Alero Sedan: This sucker, I am convinced, will not die. It's been reliable as hell with only a small problem with the LIM gasket (which is common on N-bodies with the 3400 motor) and it has about 250,000 kms on the clock. It's not pretty, it's got some superficial rust, and the doors are squeaky, but, it's paid for, it's mechanically in good working condition, the A/C works beautifully, and the rear window de-fogger doesn't work... and when I have to yank the motor to rebuild it, it's not going to be a PITA to get parts for... but, it's my winter warrior now because I have my

2005 Nissan Altima SE-R: I got it with less than 54000 kms on the dial (which is way under the lease allotment) and the price was good ($23,000 ish) and I got a warranty, and the remainder of the 100,000km warranty from Nissan. I'll mod this at some point, but I have a few other things to pay for, like my house... Modding my car hasn't been a huge priority for me, but this one will get lightly modded with NISMO stuff primarily, but I'm not going to go ape-sh*t with all the mods.

I started with a 1979 MGB roadster, mint condtion...had this when I was 16, wasnt a practical daily driver for a teenager.

so i traded it to one of dads friends who wanted it. I traded for a 1991 izuzu trooper + 1000.00 and I abused the crap outta it

then when I joined the Marines I got a new toy!

after that I got tired of the 4X4 scene and with some BOOST! and got my hands on a clean 1990 Thunderbird SC with a 94 blower swap...this was my first taste of real speed/power

soon after the head gasket blew I had to get some wheels so I bought a 2001 Z24 4door off my buddy for 1,000......how you see it is how I bought it


so I sorta went in a big circle, I had the nice and fast cars now im back to almost were I started, but I will be getting a mini truck soon so I wont have the cavalier for to much longer

My vehicle history started with a 1992 Jeep Wrangler. It was a fun car without a working AC..It gets up to 110 here in the summers and that's fun in a hardtop black Jeep.

Next was a 1994 Eclipse GS..That's where I fell in love with cars. Picked it up for 1500 with 150K miles. Had 0 problems with it..drove it like hell, turned it into a ricer(not proud of that...I was young!) Ended up selling that because I needed something newer that I could count on for school.

2000 Nissan Sentra 5sp. Was an awesome car. I had so much fun in that car. It had 4 doors, lots of room, and the little 1.8L would SCREAM. Was one of my favorite stock cars.

1997 Sunfire GT. That's when I started coming here. It was an extra car that I didn't have to rely on for daily transportation. I did a DIY turbo on it, learned a lot, broke some stuff, and never got it to a point where I liked it. I ended up selling it after it sat in my dad's shop for 4 months. Took a big loss on that..but I think the learning I got from it was worth it.

Got into a wreck with the Sentra(Guy rear ended me at a stop sign in an open parking lot)..so I purchased a 2000 S-10 from my sister. Was a really decent pick up. 4 cylinder was a joke..took a weekend to get up to speed on the expressway, but did well with everything else.

Traded in the S-10 for a then new 2006 CR-V. Went all out and got every option, really love this SUV. Ended up giving it to my wife as a daily driver.

1989 Toyota Supra was bought while I had the S-10. It was hot as hell. Targa top, dynoed at over 450hp, fully built car. It just had way too many electronic gremlins and it was auto..and I don't have any tuners local to me..so I traded it for a stock 1996 Miata.

Bought a 2000 Dodge Dakota for family trips. I picked up a used pop up trailer from my in-laws and had to have something to pull it with. Really has been nice the few times we've used it. I have the summers off so can't wait to spend some months out and about. It gets on average 10mpg..So I only drive it when I have to...which is going to be mostly summers.

My newest toy is the Miata. I still have no idea what I want that car to do. For now(as per GAM's advice) I'm going to work on the suspension...and I'll go from there.

If I can get another toy I'm going to go after a straight line car. I want something really, really fast. I have a thing for 4 cylinders..so I'm going to have to stay with that..it'll at least make it challenging.

2002-2003 i had a 89 cavalier base coupe auto.- didn't get the title $200
month later i had a 89 4 door base cavalier auto $300
6 months later i was handed a 93 se grandam with a 3.3 -didn't run-parents wanted my ugly maroon cavalier gone
at the same time they gave me a running 93 shevy 1500 witha 4.3l v6 4x4 needed new tires and had no heat also had some other issues.
6 months later they took back the truck becuase i finaly got the grand am running and they wanted to sell the fixed truck. basterds.
5months later of fun driving the grandam blew the tcc silinoid and the struts blew.
i bought the girlfriend now prgnent with my daughter and going to school a 92 boniville custom for 100 and fixed it.
the grand am was retired shortly after becuase all the money i saved to replace it i spent on car insurance for her car.
for a few months i shared rides with my sister and my girl and my now born daughter.
the grand am is still in my sig.
after a few months without a car my fiance bought me a $100 1990 base model 2 door cavalier auto. ran great needed struts installed.
but the doors and front fenders looked like some had taken salt and washed them in it.
we bought a 94 sunbird with a 2.0 ohc with a blown headgasket for parts. $400 it was really clean.
after a couple months of getting no where at my job and the car was literly drawing bad attention i put it in a junkyard to cut my loses.
2 years ago i got a new job got a promotion 3 weeks in and traded in the wifes bonni with a 197,000 miles on and a blown heater core on a 4door 2002 cavalier Z24
my fiancee wasn't with out a car though. she bought a 98 prizm with a 156,000 miles on the od and blew the motor 3 months later. replaced the motor 8 months after that she sold it to her brother and i cosigned for her 2002 alero fully loaded with 72,000 on the clock. and thats the cars we still have.

First car was a 1991 Buick Lesabre Sedan. We called it the "granny magnet" because it was an old person's car. Had a lot of fun with this car, was mechanically sound and rode great on the highways. Definitley miss the huge comfy seats, power locks, power windows it had.

Then on my graduation day from high school I received my 2003 Cavalier Coupe. Base plain jane model but I didn't care, I had been into J's because my brother had a sunfire. I've done a few smaller things to it and plan to do a few more this winter to make it a little quicker.

1989 Z24 Convertible - Still own, younger brother is currently driving it. Reluctant to ever part with it.
1993 Achieva SCX W41 - Hydrolocked. Sold for parts.
1988 Fiero Formula - Sold, impractical for college commute.

2nd car - 1993 Dodge Daytona Iroc. Thing was fun to drive but started having transmission issues, had to replace the engine when it overheated when I was driving to the mall, finally gave up on it and set it in the yard. Dad tried to fix it to use as a DD since he wrecked his Bel-Air but we gave up and sold it a couple months ago.
3rd car - 1999 Sunfire GT convertible. Got it my junior year of high school and drove it up until July of this year. It was a good car, I just started worrying about the 2.4 water pump and the transmission was starting to slip. Traded it in to get my....
4th car - 2007 Cobalt ls. The base of the base models. My pricing and options list had nothing that added to the cost of the car. I'm enjoying the 5speed more than any of the automatics I've driven. I miss the Sunfire a little bit but only because it was a convertible, overall I call this an upgrade.

my first car was a 87 pontiac 6000 with a 2.8 with 3.1 heads. great car, had 400 thousand km on her when i towed it to the junk yard got a 100 bucks

my second car was 79 formula firebird had a 403 i restored it, blew up the motor and found a early 70's 455 and droped it in there. i still have this car.

my third was my 98 sunfire gt no options except the highest cd player with all the equalizer buttons. my dad actually drives the car now i got a company

vehicle and actually hardly ever drive them, company vehicle is a 92 safari...................... im not sure if i upgraded anywhere?

i liked that car a lot until i had an accident going too fast, wasnt the same after that
then i got my 2000 cav, barebones, auto 2200
black with tan interior, i liked the car a lot, was good on gas, was how i found this site
then after i totalled it by not seeing a tahoe (yes, difficult, i know, but i managed)
i got a 1993 escort wagon, dark blue with blue interior
auto, slow as hell, had some stench in it when it was damp out that we could never find or get rid of
then the timing belt snapped on the mass pike doin about 75, so that solved that
then got the 96 cav that i have now, thats a piece
and in between the achieva and the second escort, built the mustang, which i have enjoyed on nice days since
i am too lazy to link pics, or do spaces, or anything else, so deal with it

The Cavy is the only car I've ever owned. And it's probably gonna be like that for a while - at least until I get the bike paid off.

this winter, the coilovers will be going up, some snow tires will be going on, and she'll be "rally" ready... (looking to do some time/distance rallying and maybe rallyx)

very first vehicle i owned was my dads 81' f-150. gave him $1000 for it back in '98. i joined the navy and bought a 96' sunfire. traded '96 in for '04 sunfire which is what i currently own. bought and paid for an 04' malibu for the wife.
