Heh, my buddy works at a honda dealer... he was telling me about how they had to reflash the CPUs on every single 4cyl they got in thier first 2 shipments. Some programing error that made the car slow as ballz.
Honestly, no flaming here. but A LOT of people claim Honda, Toyota, or whatever auto maker you personally don't like pays to win an award in a magazine. Do you have substantial undisputable proof of that?
I hear rumors and assumptions, but i see no proof. Someone actually claimed a G6 is better? how is it better than the Accord? The Technology that Honda put into the V6 motor alone is better than anything in any production G6. Where is the diesel G6? Just because you may be a Honda hater does not mean the car isn't worthy of the award. I like ALL cars including the G6, but i'm sorry i don't see a car in Accords market that is better in this model year than what Honda is putting out. And untill you have solid proof that they paid for the award (and FYI paying for ad space is NOT proof, that's an assumption) then that's just ignorant rambling steming from brand dislike, not fact.

First: Honda didn't put any kind of new technology in that car. iVtec: same stuff as before. Same basic suspension setup... really... nothing new. You want to hear something interesting about technological innovation: the Camry and LS 460... Camry has the same boring and mediocre performing motor and tranny: LS 460 has a 6 spd auto-trans, AND PARKS ITSELF. Toyota gives the Camry a face lift... amazing... give the re-hashed dull one an award.
Second: I seem to notice that around the 4-6 month time immediately preceeding and following the COTY edition: the winner typically has had 3-4 more pages per issue... advertising doesn't come free.
Diesel G6 is coming, just like the diesel Accord (Which is slated in 2009, but I won't hold my breath).
As far as better than the Accord this Model year: Altima.. This is the end of that particular discussion.
