So pretty much what this car is saying is that Alpine makes way too much money!

I love the amp rack. best use for a mercedes logo yet.

Very nice demo, but i really dont like the fact that its basically not a car anymore well other than still looking like one.... its not drivable just like the other one they did. To me its more like a big shopping kart with a bunch of alpine audio goodies in it lol

agree'd
not bad , better than the bimmer
well done. (what makes this better is that it is not full of FG !)

02 Cavalier sedan ECOTEC special plans ahead
04 Malibu classic ECOTEC now the daily driver
ECOTEC Cavalier 13's coming summer 2008
pure insanity!
these guys should start designing vehicles for new batman movies
So?
lemme get this straight. No gas or brake pedals, no steering wheel at all. just a shell with a lot of stereo equipment? I like and respect the work...but what's the point if it's no longer a car at all. The design was cool till i saw this was a huge box with wheels. And am I crazy or are those Pontiac Soltice headlights?

While I've always had my reservations about what Brown and Bell do to an exterior of a car, I can always admire what they put into it.
The interiors though... they @!#$ rock.
The point of their demos are to push the limits of design. Form over function. It's an advertisement piece.

Incorrect.
Article linked in OP wrote:Breathing life into the RLS required a complete dismantling, relocating, building, and reinforcing experiment. Extreme modifications include gas and brake pedal relocation to allow the car to be driven from either front seat.
yea, alpine makes all their cars 100% sit-able, driveable, moveable, steerable, brake-able, everything a stock car can do. just a little slower, a little uneasier, and a little more uncomfortable. and a little heavier.

it is cool and all, but I like the M3 they did the best.
come now chris, this is last years news lol new one should be out end of this month.
orange z. all their cars are driveable. but they really dont need to be since thy are just a advertising tool for their audio gear.
short hand. the exterior and most of the interior are all pretty much fiberglass. just covered in expensive material now
jookycola the car has brakes and gas on both sides of the car, and its steered by the joystick in the center console. so it could be drive from either seat. the point isnt to build a daily driver, the point is to draw lots of crowds which this does, to show off alpines top audio gear which it does and to get noticed which it does. they arn't building racecars, their building advertising pieces. as muffin said. the car's are extremem because they also set out to try and win the best of show award at sema which i believe theyve done a few times which pretty much nets them tons of tv and print time.

not that this will ever see any road use but they upgrade every last bolt on this car and leave the factory breaks?? man with thoughs (24"?) wheels i would not want to try and stop that thing.. but again like i said i know it wont see any road use
The First Twin Charged jbody
blue car (R.I.P) - 240whp @7psi..
silver car - 305whp 315lbs.tq @15psi (91 Octane) or 420whp & 425lbs.TQ @20psi (94 octane+Alcohol Injection)
All dynos run on a Mustang dyno
TIS Model 01 26"
Model 01 30" 26" Wheels
30" Wheels 2 Each
Pirelli 315/30 R30 305/30 R26 Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico Tires 1 set
Brembo Gran Turismo Brake System with 8-Piston Calipers 1 set
I guess 26 and 30 inch wheels make a brembo brake look like a stock one hahaha
Every time I see one of these, I continually wonder:
"Who the hell thinks this is cool?"
"What the f**k were they smoking when they figured it would be a good idea to take out the steering wheel, pedals and some of those integral things that make a car a CAR"
"When were they planning on getting off the angel dust?"
"Where is the tow truck for that sucker?"
"Why bother?"
Personal opinion: They don't belong in SEMA: They're not cars anymore.

to answer all your questions:
- Richard Simmons
- they were smoking Richard Simmons... wrapped in an inferior Dominican broadleaf wrapper
- never
- their tow truck is also missing pedals and a steering wheel... interestingly enough, it requires its own, bigger tow truck
- because satan demands it...also because it generates more product interest than a million dollar advertising campaign.
