Hey all my girlfriend got in a accident this morning on her way to work. I guess the woman slammed on her brakes at the last second and my girlfriend ran into her. My girlfriends car got the damage end of it and it looks like the womans car doesn't have any at all. But the woman was calling my girlfriend a crazy bitch and so on. My girlfriend ended up gettin a ticked for inattentive driving but that was to be expected. Should she be concerned with any thing else since the woman was being a major spaz? Girlfriends car is the red focus and the womans car is the platomic turd.

That sux... I got the same ticket when I smashed my old car (not that having my J-body totaled at the time wasn't enough). It shows up as a careless driving ticket on my insurance.. I called to try and get it changed, but it wouldn't effect my insurance any so I just let them call it what they want.
On the bright side (if you can look at it like that)... once you rearend someone, you'll never follow someone close enough to do it again... and I speak from experience on that.
The be honest... I don't know whos fault it was but there's probably a good chance the the lady that got hit was at fault too. Unless you braking to avoid an accident... there's no reason to stop that fast... so don't freak out when you get rearended. If it was because you where being tailgated thats one thing... but if not... don't be a crazy bich about it. I've actually had someone side swip me and act like it was my fault before... some people are just crazy.
Going from how minor the damage is.. it looks like everyone was OK, wich is what really matters.
God knows that I have walked away from some accidents unscratched, that could and should have been much worse.
Yeah everyone was okay, just the woman in the pt cruiser was being really rude. I know that my girlfriend is at fault though because she does like to ride close. I just didn't know if there should be any concerns of her pulling some sort of insurance fraud like a hurt neck or something to that extent. When my girlfriend gets home I want to look at the bumper and see if I can just buff the marks out or see if it needs to be repaired.

i was sued for $500,000 by a person in a car I DIDNT EVEN HIT. by the person who actually caused the accident, and the dent in his truck after the accident was in the rear bumper and about the size of a quarter. basically no damage and still were able to sue me. granted they didnt get the 500k, but they did get around 75k.
people are scum so be cautious! glad to hear no one was hurt

Well I got to see the car, the focus has more damage than in the pic, the fender on the drivers side is pushed out and back. the bumper is tore up, busted the grill, slight crease in the hood and it doesn't latch that great.

My mom bumped into the ass-end of a taxi going less than 5mph and got taken for 25g's. There was no physical damage visible on either car. Really it depends on if your insurance company has sack or not.
I'm so glad I live in Canada where everyone doesn't sue everyone for everything, and more yet, I am glad Manitoba has cheap public insurance.
yeah, it's really rediculous how much money is involved in such frivolous lawsuits. you know something's wrong when every time you turn around, someone is making money off of their own stupidity by blaming it on someone else (i.e. sueing McDonald's because you got burned by hot coffee. that same person would probably complain if her coffee wasn't hot.)

x2 ill fix it for half that
there are plastic pieces that are broken under the bumper, the hood is creased the fenders have to be aligned as well as the hood latch is pushed back.

Just heard back from the insurance company and was notified the car was going to be in the shop longer to replace the rad core support. I guess it's cheep plastic and it was damaged from the impact.
