Fiat Grande Punto Abarth S2000
The Abarth brand is synonymous with racing success and has returned to an association with Fiat for aggressive, competitive and exciting cars. To highlight the partnership, two concepts were shown at Frankfurt the Grande Punto Abarth S2000 and a prototype of the Grande Punto Abarth with the SS (Super Sport) booster kit.
The Grande Punto Abarth just went on sale in September 2007 and is powered by a 150-horsepower 1.4-liter turbo engine. The Grand Punto Abarth S2000 is a racing car designed for race teams to compete in rallys, powered by a 270-horsepower 2.0-liter engine with all-wheel drive and a 6-speed sequential gearbox.
With a low stance and more powerful brakes, Grand Punto Abarth SS prototype is intended to give young drivers in particular to enter the racing world. Equipped with a booster kit, the prototype’s power output is nearly doubled of the production car to almost 180 horsepower.
