Them science projects sure do done crazy things now.
and?
Im a HUGE fan of 4g's but its been done. and is sold to the masses with nothing more then a phone call to AMS. them suckers will hand you one of there 2.3 strokers and you can spin your own vag tastic numbers. Im nocking the guy or the car. but its old news........ and not to swing on the ecos nuts (espcially since I cant swing them any harder) but weve spanked out numbers way higher (yes includeding the drive train loss.) and dont give me any gm full fldged race team BS. they were just a couple of old farts that beat the eco until it cracked fixed the problem and kept going.
that cars still badass though ill give them that.
"
boobs now with Riboflabin"
name one all wheel drive production eco
nothing? ok
LOL .. I guess if you're going for top end thats pretty cool ... but when you see 1014 HP and 600 is Tq ... well I couldn't help but chuckle

the only purpose of such a car is for drag, so... yeah. It probably doesn't even produce 350whp until the engine hits 5000 rpm.
it's still badass, though.

quads too.
LD9 F23 FTW!!

Not on pump gasoline without N2O. Also, the most powerful 4g's are 2.0L, no strokers.

And?
You put that sucker on the street for a week, it'll spend 2 in the garage.
You take a $35,000 car, and dump $25,000 of parts into it, you still have a Lancer that won't be worth much in 5 years outside the tuner crowd. To top that off, 1000 HP would do 3 things:
- Make it COMPLETELY undrivable outside a track
- Suck up more funds out of Gas
- be obsolete when someone puts out a 1200 HP engine.
Seriously, great work, you turned a great car into a cash black-hole. Unless you're doing it to sell more parts (because excess is cool, yet expensive) or, get it to do weird things on a track (like go straight with an AWD system, because something like that will get it's ass kicked in Time Attack where HP!=Win) I can't see why you'd do that.
1k wheel horsepower in anything is awesome. he has the money so he did it. no different then people on this board putting $1,000's in jbodies that aren't worth a penny when they are done. at least the dsm will get the respect it deserves from a numerous amounts of people.

respect is something earned... the car might be nice but if the driver is a prick, im not going to give them any respect.
this car seems like it was built more to be a dyno queen and nothing else. like it was said in posts above me, tat thing in no way is streetable any more.and i just find it funny how 3 beer cans added like 100 more horsepower...how they hell is that possible? also kind of funny how no camera was able to capture the footage. whats the issue, that engine at 51 psi resonate the camera at a certain frequency and cause the lens to shatter?

i cant believe some of u guys are knocking a 1000 ALL WHEEL HP street legal car.....typical JBO
Who done be knocking them 4g now?
oooo eeee
I agree on the whole why couldnt they film it. If it was to loud move back form the car! hey do have this wonderful feature called ZOOM LOL Sick car either way though
Now that is impressive.
If I had that, I would be hunting Veyrons. lol

Im sure it is no longer street legal. Hell most of the cars on this forum are probably not technically street legal anymore.
Good numbers, yes. usable power, probably not. Its like the Supras. Lots of power but probably only usable on the track at best.
1000 hp AWHP....Holy sh!t. LMAO @ everybody bashing this car.

There's a difference...
-$1000's into a J-body: you'll likely still have a streetable vehicle (remember there's a BIG difference between street LEGAL and Streetable, try and drive for 2 hours in a vehicle that's just on the legal side of street legal, and then in one thats streetable... your lower back will thank you, I promise).... and you might even be doing some of the work. That Evo has about $20,000 in parts and I don't know how much in tuning.
- 1000 HP means you're NOT going to be able to effectively use that wonderful AWD system that's so good at propelling the car around these things that pop up now and then called "corners."
- Finally, 1000 HP is cool, but its not usable on the road... for very long. There's a reason why top-fuel dragsters get torn-down after each 1/4 mile: they need it. This is no different except it's not likely going to do a 4 second pass, but it will likely need significantly shorter intervals between servicing... in other words, its making stupid amounts of HP, and it's become completely unusable because of it.
I'll say it again, it's cool to make that amount of HP, but realistically, WHY? if you wanted to break that thing out, you're more than likely going to:
- spin the living @!#$ out of the tires,
- break the car loose in the middle of a turn, and get passed by a stock WRX STI
- confine it to a dyno.
Why waste the $55K on doing that to a car when you could play to its strengths?
The car IS streetable, all they have to do is turn down the BOOST, They dont have to run that 50+ psi on the streets, but if they wanted to, they can, and nobody here is running 1000 horse power, so how do YOU know its not streetable?
It wouldnt live for very long on the street at that power level. It would be like driving a Cav with 50 PSI everyday and actualy using it. The motor just wouldnt last.
