For towing, can a CRV pull this and how easily? My wife kinda wants to make me happpy and let me get a car...especially since it looks like we're going to have to drive a couple hours to get a good deal on a truck.. I've found plenty of cars in the area that are what I want for the price I want, so I'd be set. Just wanting to now if it'll be a dog with 2500 lbs..or more importantly will I be hurting my vehicle, etc.
Thank you all for your patience, this has been pissing me off a lot recently

eh I think it will be ok.. I'm not sure though on a crv.. it might be maxed out at that point.. have you checked your owners manual?
**changes are here**
I called Honda and spoke with their service department. They looked into it and I was assured it would pull it without a problem. Just wanted to get an idea from people who aren't going to be getting my money. Owner's manual is a good idea. I'll check there in a bit.

The 2007 CRV will pull 1500 lbs...It's right on their website. I don't know what kind you have...but it's out there.
That's pretty heavy. What size engine does it have?

Well, glad I looked into things a little better..they'd be fine installing the hitch but when my transmission goes and they find out I was towing something 1Klbs heavier than allowed I bet they won't help me out then....
I found the trailor and for sure it's about 1800. The CrV is good to pull 1500 lbs and that's it...so looks like a truck afterall...god I hate roller coasters...

From your other posts, I know you've been disappointed with the trucks you're finding in your price range...
Have you considered going the Jeep route?
A Grand Cherokee (especially with the V8 option) will pull either your boat or trailer without even breathing hard.
While probably out of the price range you're looking in, the Wrangler Unlimited has a 3500 lb. towing capacity, too.
Once you get up above 1500 lbs. or so, small-ish SUV's are not going to be what you want for towing. Even if they have the capacity for it, it will be at or near the limit, which means you won't like driving it while towing...you'll be slower than most senior citizens on the road.
Based on what you've said in your other threads, my opinion is the Dodge Dakota or Jeep Grand Cherokee is probably the best all-around choice for you (both w/ V8 options, of course)
Good Luck with your search.

any low trq honda isnt going to be able to pull @!#$.
even that piece of @!#$ ridgeline cant tow or haul as much as my little s10

^^^like said above, you'll need something w/ a bit of torque if u plan on doing any towing. a v6 ranger or 4.3 s10 can be had fairly cheap in good condition and are reliable if serviced and treated properly. honda surely isn't the way to go if u plan on towing anything bigger than a golf cart
People say that what doesn't kill you in this life
will make you stronger. I'm not sure if that is true
or not, but i do know one thing-You have to learn from
it and it has to make you better.......it has to.......
2 words.....Jeep Liberty small and nimble like the crv.....pull up to 5000 lbs under jeep rules...some have pulled more but I wouldnt try it. Gas mileage isnt the best 15mpg in town around 20 on the hwy...so if thast something you are looking into dont get a liberty...or just get the diesel version. 25 in town and like 35 on the hwy.....still pull just as much if not more with the little diesel. Goodluck make sure to get 4wd if you ever plan on going anywhere where you shouldn't. IDK tho im biased I had a Z24 moved up to the Liberty and havent looked back.
Thanx Charles
