I went looking for a new vehicle today. I found a lot of decent looking vehicles, but I'm not so sure about several things. The trucks I was looking at were from 99-02. They had like 100-150K miles on them and they wanted anywhere from $8-10K. I only told one dealership I would be paying cash, and they said they could go way down on the price(From 9K to 7K for one truck).
I found about 3 times more F150's than Silverados.
100K miles seems like a whole lot me. The vehicles looked like they were in really great shape. I didn't do any test drives but I'm somewhat dissappointed. I really was hoping to find stuff in better shape. It went from like $8-10K to about 15K and up..And a lot of the vehicls I found for 8K were in really, really, really bad shape.
I looked at about 30 trucks and am wondering how many I should look at before I make my decision. Since I have a larger selection of F150's to look at, I'm probably going to buy one of those. Are they as well endorsed by aftermarket companies? How many miles are too many?
Will race for food
..check out my miscellanous mods
100,000 miles is nothing. Seriously, that's just warming up
My mom has a '98 GMC Sierra 1500 with over 250k miles on it and she just does the basic recomended check ups. She takes really good care of her truck so it'll last awhile. Heck, she yelled at me for driving it with the windows down since she thinks it'll pull the headliner down and make it sag. If you find a good truck you'd be lucky since most people beat on them for work purposes and then get new ones down the road.

Yeah, 100,000 miles (or about 160,000kms) is getting the engine broken in with proper maintenance...
Get a GMC FWIW, but both GMs and Fords are well supported in the aftermarket.
Either way, do an engine & trans flush, replace the coolant, and diff. fluids (along with the front diff if you have 4wd)... and just drive it.
