bought a WRX

Hey guys, i sold my Z24 and bought a 2004 WRX. Man i love this car. To anyone who has looked at or considered buy a WRX or an STi. Do it. Its as simple as that. I test drove it once and I was hooked. The all wheel drive is awsome and it handles better than any car ive ever driven. The only problem i have is the lack of a 6th gear and it suffers from some turbo lag. The turbo doesnt spool till about 2800 rpm but once it does its just insane. Easily one of the best performance cars for a relatively low price tag. Sure, it will get beaten from a red light by a Z28 or Mach 1, but once your going through the corners you can wave bye-bye. Ive gone AWD and i dont think ill be goin back any time soon.

Upgrade! If I wasn't so attached to my Sunfire, I'd go WRX too. Pics!

Yeah, I'm not sure what Subaru was thinking with the grill on the 06+ WRX.

very nice, you can mod them to be pretty quick but the transmission is glass

o and btw you still don't have cornering on a Z28 or Mach 1, a common miss understanding among wrx and evo owners is just because you have AWD doesn't mean much unless your in low traction situation like snow or dirt thus why there used as rally cars. just go look at the stock skid pad scores for both a WRX and a Z28 and you will see

yeah nice car, i was thinking about getting one of them when i got rid of my cavy, but i kept reading so many horror stories about the trannies grenading themselves. Do not do high RPM launches or the tranny will die.

Yeah ive heard alot about the tranny's bein weak. Thats the worst part about this car is trying to launch, its not very easy without either bogging down or worrying yourself to death about hurting the transmission.

Little fun fact for future suburu owners. If your tires are 2/32 diffrence in tread depth you'll need all four tires. so if u get a nail in ur sidewall congrats! that nail just cost u 600 dollars

so i hope your alingment is dead on and your tires are brand new

skidpad is only one measure of handling performance, and AWD cars aren't known for doing particularily well on skidpads. however, a scubie or an evo will out handle a RWD v-8 live rear axle musclecar in almost any real-world situation, like if there's any kind of bump in the middle of the turn, or if the turn isn't just a circle, or a piece of a circle (like if you have increasing- or decreasing-radius turns, opposite turns back-to-back, etc.). also, AWD allows the driver to get back on the throttle harder and sooner than RWD in a real-world application (street, track, auto-X, etc.), and offers more control, and is usually more "neutral" than RWD.

The bottom line is: all drive arrangements have their own pros and cons, and must be driven accordingly to achieve the best results.
