RSX-S here i come!
Saturday, June 23, 2007 5:55 AM
hey whats up guys

over the past few months ive been looking into getting a new car as my current one isn't really my cup of tea for a daily driver, while it is awesome in other respects.
at first i was thinking about getting a 07 Mini Cooper S or a 07 Civic Si but i rather not put my self in dept at all( i have 15k to spend).
i needed something with good gas mileage but was still quick. it has to have a nice interior and had to have a huge after market support, the RSX-S fits this bill for me.

so right now im looking around for a black or silver 02-04 RSX-S and will hopefully will pick one up in the next month or two, im not in any rush though.
im looking for getting one that has less the 50k on it , what do you think i would be looking to pay..
i know theres kbb and Edmund's but that doesn't always reflect the real world some times and with the civic si out i would imagine rsx-s are not as in high demand as they where.
also i think that i would probably get a JRS/C kit down the line as there relatively cheap($2500).
ive been doing alot of reading on Club RSX and these cars are pretty awesome when boosted

what are all your thoughts on this car and do you think it would be worth the extra money and debt to choose Si or mini CS over the RSX-S?
also do you think i should just trade in my 98 Trans Am or Try and sell it? it has slightly high miles(132k) so im thinking it might be a hassle selling it. what would you do?

Go with the type s... my buddy has an 02 silver... great car... He payed 17 for his 2 years ago with 55k on it... so, odds are, 17 would be the highest you should see for an 04... I've seen the 02s going for about 12-15k... dont know about the miles though.

PS: The interiors are @!#$in pimp...

I was going to get an rsx-s before I bought my turbokit and learned how to fiberglass. (I have a LOT of rework to do to my sunfire and i was just going to buy a new car)

I was going to get an 02 type s.

Nice cars, and a 6spd to boot.

lol u jump around with cars so much its not funny. Find a car and stick with it! Personally i dont care much for the RSX-S. They always just appeared too small for my taste. Im not familiar with anything more besides how they look so my opinion isnt much. But seeing what you have done with your last cars, im sure this one will kick @ss too.

Not sure if you like the cobalts or not. But there are two very interesting projects coming out for the cobalts soon. A twinscrew swap and a Procharger swap. Not to mention a mild turbo kit on a cobalt will net 300+WHP.

I am considering an RSX as my next Daily Driver when the baby blue bentley goes.

Good choice.

As for the T/A, 5K is a good deal.

i just had a quote done threw my insurance company and i would be saving $139 every 6 months ..woot woot

so im gonna be saving about $1200-$1400 in gas a year and $280 on insurance ... thats a little more then half the price of a JRS/C kit.. im getting excited lol

damn 5k for a ls1 is cheap even with high miles

i was considering an rsx-s before i bought my s2000. it came down to 1 or the other and i got a killer steal on the s2000. (cheapest rsx i found was for 12,500 with 84k on it. when i was reading club rsx and a few other forums. it looks like theres quite a few stock bottom end rsx-s making that 350-400whp range.

yeah i was gonna mention the insurance but it looks like you already got the quotes.
and yeah, the k-series is a pretty strong motor, there are multiple guys making over 500whp on stock internals, my roomate being one of them. He has the cybernation turbo kit and has 502whp on c16 and 18psi on a turbonetics 60-1

Only an infantile retard would sell an LS1 to modify an RSX.

Selling the LS1 to buy a new daily driven RSX makes sense.

well i need a more practical daily driver and the rsx is 10x more practical then a trans am.
besides i don't plan on modifying it right away ether thats not my goal and even if i do feed it boost it will still be better then a trans am in the practical area

now the trans am would be great if i live in a place that was warm all the time and had long stretches of roads and highways.... i live in RI, lots of city driving =bad gas mileage and bumpy ride and sucky winters. all things i didn't really think of when i bought my car... its was kinda like when you see a really hot chick and your like damn i want that with out even getting to know her personality lol thats how it was when i went to go buy the trans am

btw heres a new pic of the beast

F bodies FTW. i'd park my 3rd gen and buy a 4th gen if i could afford to insure it.

the rsx-s is nice as well, but i'd put that 15k down on a new Civic Si

yes im selling it for 5k just waiting for the right person to come along... mostly been getting 16-18 year olds that thinks its hot looking and wants go fast. i refuse to sell this car to a person who is ignorant , i don't wanna hear on the news how some kid ended up getting them selfs killed by wrapping my car around a pole. worst case ill trade it in i should still get around 4-5k for it.

if anyone one here is near the RI area and interested let me know

Aren't you 19 yourself?

Sell it to the first kid with cash in hand ... and let their parents worry about peeling Timmy off a telephone pole.

im 24, your 29 days older then me jinxedz lol...
im going to look around at the dealerships next week hopefully the weather will clear up by then. if the dealership gives me 5k for it as a trade in ill go that route
im really looking for an 02 at this point i wanna spend as little money as i can on it that way ill be free with funds if i ever boost it.

all im planning on right now when i get it is
black projector headlights
tinted tails
tinted back windows
later on maybe some coilovers and a lip kit

giving a ls1 trans am to a teenager is probably worse then giving them a loaded gun lol
