hey guys, one of my buddies has a 90 teg which we just built into a stock car. it makes left hand tuns on a 3/8 mile oval, its a new class(4cyl max displacement is 2.5L) it as a 1.8 L 5spd what can we do that would make some good hp numbers. he is hitting 5800 rpm in 3rd when he gets to the end of the straight away, we would like to hit 6100, 6200.
i know there are knowlegable guys/ gals that make these things tick.
i cant find any decent forum with good info.........that woud also help
thank you
maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow....... but some day
Well, if you want it to rev faster, just get a new final drive gear.
Are there any rule constraints you are bound to?

the motor has to stay ''stock" but thats like piss'n in the wind. we are under the impression that if it looks stock on the outside your good to go, and it has to stay n/a. can you chip these cars . it pulls hard on the last 1/4 of the straight away..
the forums suck for this cars model year. money is kind of an issue but im open to suggestions.
thank you scott.

take the head off and get a decent port and polish job. no one would ever know. possibly a cam. maybe port-match the intake and exhaust manifolds to the head (helped a ton on my daytona) as for revving faster, maybe try a hotter ignition while trying to keep it as stock looking as possible. or, as mentioned above maybe change the gears for a better final drive ratio but be careful on your selection of gears as the wrong ratio could make you redline in third and you wanna stay out of fourth gear on them circle tracks.
just a few ideas to think about
People say that what doesn't kill you in this life
will make you stronger. I'm not sure if that is true
or not, but i do know one thing-You have to learn from
it and it has to make you better.......it has to.......

2006 tC - Dust Covered, but driven more
portmatch and chip.. you should be good with that to rev to 7k.

Hopefully anyone doing inspections is too stupid to realize the engine code is stamped in a very visable spot on the block.
thank you guys very much for all your help,we got a few more sponsers on the car so we have a little more money. this is his rookie season.
if there is anything else keep'em coming.

If you used a slightly shorter tire that'd probably be the easiest way to do what you're looking for (basically the same as changing the final drive) the only down side would be that your speedo would wrong.

or the poor mans version...smaller diameter wheels/tires. though this will throw your speedo and odometer off, but those are most likely no concern given the use of the car.
