Wow, that list surprises me. All of GM is "below industry average" and Mazda is 2nd to worst!

Anyone notice that there isnt much of a shifter between, like Ford and Audi, but Chrysler on down... Holy crap.

I'm sorry. I don't speak gibberish. Review what you write before you post!

I find it a little odd that after Audi, it takes a huge jump..20+ problems. And I wonder: the Hummers (and I mean the trucks), did people bring them back because they had like 8gallons per mile fuel economy?

I'd be more inclined to believe it was those who thought it was an actual hummer (H1)...

Irony: Mazda is 2nd from the bottom overall, yet the Miata won the "Compact Sporty Car" segment. That's almost scary to think what that means for the rest of Mazda's line.

I hope you all know that this is measureed at 90 days of ownership and captures problems experienced by owners in two categories quality of design and quality of production (defects and malfunctions).

This is not the long term study.

I know... hence "initial quality." However, Initial quality goes a long way in overall perceived quality. It's kinda like a first impression. Bad ones lead to people dwelling on or finding more mistakes later on. Good one's lead to people thinking "nah, it's not that big of a deal."

My statement still stands. The first time you sit in a high HP vehicle, you want to get on it. I'm sure people with new Hummer's thinking they are actually a real Hummer, and not a toy version. Same may be true for Jeeps for their off-road capabilities,.
