I want to buy a new front one. But, I don't know where the best deals are, what the best brands are, what I should look for, how long they last....anything. Please help me.
1994 Yamaha FZR 600R is the bike.
any motorcycle shop can get them, as far as deals go im not sure who has the best...my only advice is make sure you get a good tire. I worked at a motorcycle shop for 4 years and saw so many guys come in and get the cheapest tire they could find, only to hear they wrecked because they pushed their bike beyond the limits of the tire. just my 2 cents.

as far as deals go, just shp around online.
as for brands, i would go with michelin pilot power or the 2ct tires ( will be my next set of tires) , dunlop qualifiers ( had on my old bike, very good), pirelli diablo corsa or corsa III, or bridgestone battle ax ( on my new bike, also pretty good)
as for how long they last, sport tires wont last super long, i got 5,000ish miles out of my old qualifiers, if you are looking for more mileage, get a set of sport touring tires
and if you need a new front one, buy a new rear one as well
I have been very happy with the Pilot powers, I have not tried the 2CT yet. I hear good things about the Pirelli Diablo Super Corsa but that is more of a track tire.
The pilot powers are outlasting anything I have owned so far and have great grip, rapid heating. Ready to go in about 10 minutes in warm weather.

yeah i also heard good things about the Diablo Super Corsa
2CT will be my next set of tires though
watching this thread, cuz i'm gonna need a new front soon too
What's with worn fronts? I go through two rears to every front.
Rear (match existing front)
Rear +Front (opportunity to change compounds)
Rear again
Rear+ front
Repeat...
Whatever you choose try to go with similar compound as your existing tire. They don't have to be the same tire, but close in compound and profile will be better than not matched at all.
If trying a tire for the first time I strongly recommend doing both front and rear. That's the only way to get a real feel for the new tires performance. It always feels like a new bike to me when I put on a new set.

i bought my bike with a worn front and hardly and maybe 100 miles on the rear..... the only thing is, the rear is some cheap tire
Do them both then. Just like a car, cheap tires can ruin a ride.
I know it will cost you more than double but if the rear is crap you could run into real trouble on a "spirited" ride. Let's say all of your riding buddies are using good sticky sport tires, you have every bit as much skill so you corner just as hard. Unfortunately, your tires are not as grippy and off you go.... That would suck.
Dunlop D208s come to mind. The track version is fine, but the street version of that tire sucks. I have seen guys lowside for no other reason than sudden loss of traction when every one else was just fine at the same or higher speeds. Could be setup but I've ridden on those and they go from mild grip to ice in no time, they never seem to have good grip.
The pilot powers are like velcro, so sticky and so far less wear than the pilot sports they replaced. Good all round tire, even suitable for track use. That said, they are now nearly 2 year old technology and even better is available.
Someone will buy that rear from you and off-set some of the cost, just make sure it goes to a touring rider and not a sport rider.

PS: some of the lesser known brands are not cheap or crappy, like say "Avon" they are not the cosmetics company but a Euro tire maker that actually make some good stuff. Metzelers are pretty good as well.

I'm a fan of the Dunlop Qualifiers. Stick like glue through the canyons, and they're a good price.
Try ronayers.com for a good deal. They'll ship the tire for only $10.
