Debateing which route to take with new car...

Ok i have a few options here. My Cavalier has been good to me, but its on its last legs. Its around 190,000km's and still runs good but i want to get rid of it before something big happens. Im gunna sell it for as much as i can (hopeing for $1500-$2300) then i gotta get something else. My budget is as follows: $9000 loan (most likely) + money from cav. $2000(ish) + $2000 put aside. So roughly $12-14,000 CAD ($11,000 - $13,000 USD). Now, im looking for a car thats fast+fun to drive, no lower than say 20-24mpg city, easy on insurance, looks sexy The options are as follows:

1. Get another J,drop in an ecotec (it it doesn't have one) and boost it.
2. Possibly get a F-body (sexy cars) but at my age the insurance might be a little high, and the MPG (while not bad) is a little less than what i'm aiming for.
3. Get something else lol

I kinda wanted to step UP from a J-body, but if no other options present themselves, this wouldn't be the worst option.

Thoughts?

In your price range look for a low miles 2004-2005 LS sport. It meets your criteria (beats the gas milage criteria but needs just a little help on the "fast" criteria). I'm not sure what the conversion is, but you can get one around here for ~10k dollars or less

what about a 02+ Hyundai Tiburon? They look nice, not sure how they are for speed, but its a possibility. Saw a 03 with low KM's for $10,900 for a v6. How are the v6's anyhow? Can they be pretty quick if they're charged?

As for the Tiburons ... V6 6spd or bust.

Do not worry about modifying them, they wont be fast. And even if you do decide to dump an ungodly amount of cash into it, it is still a Hyundai Tiburon ... So, dont.

I think its a good sporty 'fun' A-B car in the same purchasing catagory as an RSX.

Lol point taken, perhaps i wont take that route. Im looking for something that either IS fast already, or can be quite fast when charged. F-body's are up at the top, but from the quotes im getting the insurance is gunna hurt. I need to figure if i can afford an F-body (insurance+gas+payments etc..) Dont wanna get it then find out i cant make the payments. Kinda why i was looking for a car i can buy now, then once its paid off, boost it. Besides the F-body or boosted J-body, what are some other options you guys can think of?

I have the opportunity to buy a 00' BMW 323i 70,000km's fresh body work from head to toe, new paint for around $9000. I know they're the low end of BMW's but i love the look (plus ive seen an LS1 put into them (makes me drool lol)) If anyone has experience with those, can you tell me anything about them? Im gunna search around for some forums for that make of car and research it a bit more before i consider it.

Hey, just reading in another forum and someone was talking about an 88 fiero GT, i looked them up and they look pretty cool. It sounds very possible to put an V8 into them. What are the chances of an ls1 fitting in an 88 Fiero GT, ive never heard of those cars before and im really likeing the styling (black + lowered = sexy imo ), and the fact that its a RWD. Insurance on one of those would be pretty good id imagine, with it being an 88 and all.
