There is way to do it with the key...power on and off cycles...ill see if i can pull it up.

What problem are you having? I didnt want to shell out 1200 dollars for a new one so I disabled it using a simple wire diagram. It was worthless to me anyways...

While changing the fuel pump my mechanic set off the anti-theft, so no the car won't run.

It was there all week as he was waiting for answers from GM on how to reset it. However, I drove past the shop yesterday, and the car was not there, so I think he must have gave up and sent it to a dealership to have it figured out.

Just a though, but any chance it was already set off, and thats why the fuel pump wasnt working? Im pretty sure when it is set off it cuts the fuel pump(it does in the 99+)

No, the fuel pump was dead, as in zero PSI, and the car would not even idle for more then 10 seconds. Diagnosis, dead fuel pump.

After changing the fuel pump, there was full pressure, and the car would idle just fine, but nothing in the car worked, not the power windows, locks, stearing, brakes, etc. And if you touched any of them, or the gas pedel, the car would die. Diagnosis, fuel pump is working, but anti-theft acting up.

Anyhow, it turns out there is a resistor that only the GTP's have, and when it goes faulty, or gets shorted (as in this case, do to something that happend in the process of changing the pump) it sets of the anti-theft.

New resistor, car runs like a champ.
