Honda Prelude Question / HELP!
Thursday, May 24, 2007 6:22 AM
Hi,

I have a 94 Honda Prelude si, I was tring to turn the steering wheel with the car not running, when I did that the steering wheel turned about half turn and made a grinding noise from down near the steering rack or the steering shafts, but the wheels didnt turn. now i can feel the steering wheel / shafts / linkage lsip and grind if I try to turn hard.

I want to know if this common and also if there is an adjustment where i can tighten something up to fix this or what. or any other info would be great.

thanks in advance!

Well im thinkin its the teeth on the input shaft on the rack, I was hoping that it would have some kind of collar or a bolt that could be tightned. sounds like i will be pullin the rack this weekend, I found a used unit with all the shafts at a local salvage yard, my car only has 80,000mi on it and the used rack im getting has 62,000mi on it. hope thats all it is.... maybe i will get lucky and and it will be just an adjustment, Im going to put it on a lift at work tonight and take a peek at it. lol

thanks

thanks again.
