Car thats REALLY easy on insurance and reliable???

Ok so i REALLY want to get a Camaro, but with teh cost of gas its kinda hard, what im thinking of doing is getting a car thats REALLY good on insurance, cheap, good mpg etc.. looks dont matter too much really. That car will be my DD car. Then (since i live in BC, we get crappy winters) ill keep the camaro off the roads for winter (RWD + Snow x ice= bad), and have it on the road for the other seasons (save on insurance that way), and as a drag car. If i want to drive it other times, pick up a temp insurance for $20 for like a sunday drive should i feel the need. I think that would be a nice compromise, what do you think about that idea? I just need some ideas for cars that fit that description.

Best Idea if you're looking to save Gas:

If that's not an option, look for a used Echo or something.

1995-2001 Geo Metro/Suzuki Swift. Tiny and ugly, but it's the Mini Austin of the far east. It costs nothing in fuel, has great winter traction. The heater blows hot. It's a nice solid daily driver. Just be careful of rusted to hell ones and you'll be okay. Also, you can rebuild the whole thing for the cost of a set of wheels on a J-body. Insurance isn't anything and it'll carry a ton of stuff in the back if you toss out the rear seat. Awesome, honest car.
