Hey, i know a few of you guys have cherokee's here. This question about my roommates 96, he wants to do components. Diamond D6 components actually. I learned when i replaced my M5 components with D6's in my colorado i had to cut the panels which turned out pretty nice. We don't wanna pop the panels off before were doing it because the trucks got 156k on it and dont wanna do anything more than we need to. Has anyone put a decent component set in an older cherokee?

jeepforum.com
jeepsunlimited.com might be a little better for this type of stuff...
Wish I could help more, but i'm not that knowledgeable on stereos for the cherokee..
pfffft... 156k on a 4.0L is just getting warmed up. I often tell people that, in the event of a nuclear war, the only thing that will survive is cockroaches and the 4.0L (not necessarily in that order either)
re: pre96 XJ speakers, if you don't want to do any cutting, you'll have to use 5 1/4" speakers (Front and Back), and you'll have to keep the speaker depth under 3".
