Because we all need mid-flight transmission failures that result in the vehicle barreling to the ground ... on fire.
I'm so tired of the "hemi", I need some better mpg theese days.
i cant wait for the movie to hit the theaters
the first 9 seconds of that video looked like a Braun Shaver commercial.

lol love the name, Fantasticar
The Batmobile had a Hemi... until Batman found out you could get more reliability, power and fuel economy out of a jet engine.
More reliability from a jet engine???
Must not be the ones I work on.

Well at least Batman has good taste. Most of his Batmobiles were GM based including the
Baddest Batmobile ever It was built on an Impala chassis.
and i found info THIS crazy.
Batman is a member here? seriously? Dodge Fantasticar LOL I literaly witnessed a Neon SRT-4 blow it's tranny racing a Mustang last night.

Funny seeing as the IQ of most of the fantastic 4 would make them cringe that there powered by a Dodge engine.
Hemi is old technology, with the advent of turbochargers. 340hp form 5.7 litres is sad sad sad especially for a "performance" car.
-Chris
? and 380 hp from 5.7L is sooo much better?
Not to mention the fact that the hemi is built for tq.

Holy crap a j-body batmobile!
How many steps to heaven, Doc?
...Ah, metaphysics.
I <3 the
Tumbler
They used a 500hp Chevy 350 engine in it.

Price for perfomance I'll agree the hemi is better coming in around 13K less than the vette. But I think Dodge could do a lot more than just add hemi to the engine, and so could other car companies. My only issue is people throw the word hemi around like it makes the engine 100x better when in fact its only a mild difference over a more efficient engine design.

Did someone just appeal to 'technology' in their argument?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHHAAHHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAH
The Fantasticar is cool stuff. Other than the supposed "Hemi". Sure, Hemis are cool, but not in something like that...
As far as Batmobiles go, I LOVE the Tumbler. Coolest EVAR in my opinion... As far as actual cars go, though, I always preffered the
Lambo or
Mercedes-Benz based cars. It just makes sense to me that if Bruce Wayne is a rich mofo like that, his cars are going to have an expensive base to them.

God that Tumbler this is awful...looks like they took the middle two wheels off the rock crawler in Armageddon and slapped them on the back...
The car from Batman and Batman Returns was the best, without a doubt...car looked pissed...
"HEMI" is a dodge trademark of a technology used on a vast majority of the cars on the road today. dodge did it first and they trademarked the name. its short for "hemispherical", meaning the combustion chamber is domed, making for far more efficient combustion. for those of you who have any GM quad/ twin cam, our heads are hemi like mofo's, guys. far more actually hemispherical than anything with 2 valves per cylider. hemi is kinda the dohc of the early 60's- one company came out with it, it worked really well, then everybody started doing it. it's simply a much more efficient way to build an internal combustion engine.
