question about boost - MPG
Friday, May 11, 2007 4:12 PM
I have a little question i was curious about, im planning on getting a 00 civic SI soon hopefully. Not completely by choice mind you, insane gas prices have kinda backed me into a corner lol and i need a good Daily driver. Obviously a 00 civic isn't gunna be a race car lol, but i wouldn't turn down some boost. Id eventually want to supercharge it and im wondering what kind of drop in MPG you can expect from doing that?

if you stay out of boost you shouldn't see a dramatic drop in gas mileage. i know with my roots charger i had on my Z24 that it didn't effect it at all unless i was in boost

i know with my set up i was getting about 650-680kms on the high way with still getting into it a fair bit (made it from calgary to saskatoon in 5hrs 45min which is ushally about a 6.5-7hr trip and went threw an entire bottle of alcohol which is a fair bit since it only comes on at higher boost levels and thats with turbo but also the s/c'er too...
