1995 Mustang - Problem, need help
Tuesday, May 08, 2007 1:06 PM
First hand I post this question here because I feel this forum has people that have great knowledge no matter what the car brand is. Okay here is my question.

When I shift into second gear (1995 Mustang GT 5.0L 5spd) the car bucks and hesitates and then runs smooth after that. First, third, fourth and 5th gear no problem. The hesitation and bucking is only in 2nd grear? The car has a cold air intake, new spark plugs and wires, new distributor cap, and new fuel filter. Does anybody here have any idea what might be causing the car to hesitate and buck in 2nd gear?

Thanks for the help.

Any CEL's?

Is it doing it when you sift into 2nd at any rpm...or is it just a specific rpm. Low throttle? Half throttle? Full throttle?

No CEL's and it only does it at low RPMs anything under 2K RPMs with low and half throttle.

Thanks....I just sold it

Your problem could be anything from a bad O2 sensor....to a bad PCV valve. It's kinda strange that it only does it in second gear.

You're positive it's the motor? If you keep it at part throttle going the same speed does it go away?

It could also be a MAF problem....I would start there and maybe try to clean it first.

One more question...lol.

What rpm are you shifting at when you get the bucking. If you shift too low with the stock gears you will get some bucking.

First off its my Dads Mustang which I would still take over your car. A race between the 5.0L and your car would be close but you wouldnt hold a candle light next to my mustang.......03 cobra I wasn't trying to bash you or your car. You car is simply not my style.

New house + the need of a riding lawn mower to cut 1.5 acres of grass = sell one of the toys.
