Is there anything going on with corvette and AWD?
Thanks
There was rumor, but I don't think it will go through. Forget where I read that at.
The Corvette has always been RWD as far as I know, I think people would take it as an insult if it was made AWD

I wouldn't be offended either way
Keeping things rwd is keeping things grassroots.
Adding awd would set a new gold-standard for sports cars.

If they put in AWD without going to an overhead cam engine layout first, I'm grabbing a shottie and going postal on those m-er f-er's...
Eventually, 2 valves per cylinder and pushrods does only get you so far...

I think it'd be a good idea in the future. They're either going to keep getting wider rear tires or have to go to AWD to keep traction.

Not a "New Gold Standard" as AWD sports cars have been around for ages. Diablo, etc.
AWD is not just for snow. It helps with cornering and adds a ton of grip fro the launch. Something to think about.
It is just wrong in a Vette, but if they made Vette II I'd be all for it.

I was factoring pricepoint into that comment.

That thing looks like the bastard monster child of a corvette and a camaro, thank god they stopped that thing

well, it would have to be a mid engine or rear engine vehicle w/ great aerodynamics. Probably quick as hell.

OK, not strictly "sport" cars but all Subarus.
Then there's DSM.. Now out of production, but they are certainly sporty and were available with AWD.
Porche makes a psuedo-affordable AWD sports car.. At least it's lower cost than the Diablo.
