An expected 300 or more horses from the new high-performance 2.0-liter turbocharged MIVEC engine. The new engine is part of the Global Engine Alliance, for which Mitsubishi jumped worked with Hyundai Motor and DaimlerChrysler for four-cylinder.
A six-speed automated manual transmission available. The sequential manual transmission coming--a dual-clutch and DSG setup similar to that in select Audis and Volkswagens--might make Mitsubishi one of the first brands outside the VW family to offer the technology.
The new Lancer Evolution is set to go on sale in North America in the first quarter of 2008, with a price easily in the $30,000s.

No kidding man.....Subaru and Mitsubishi are competing on ugliness as well as performance I guess. At least now there is something nastier than the new WRX. Makes us Subaru guys feel a little better.....

I think its gaudy, and I LOVE the Evo's. The backend looks kinda like a smushed Mazda 6, and the front looks out of place with that grey piece in between the grill and intercooler. "Over 300 horses" . . . What, so the original 289 wasn't enough?! The Evo before was damn near $36, this one is bound to be over $40 with dealer markup and taxes.

i like it 60% i dont know why they ran out of paint when the got to the bumpers though... the front is awkward, and it looks to much like a family car. not racey at all

Looks like the trans idea isnt the only thing that they are taking from Audi and VW......they are taking the grille idea also. I think the front looks ok....if the grille was paint matched BUT the rear looks like ass and mistu needs to rethink this new addition to the evo family.

Finally, an EVO that doesn't look like a box....best yet (just needs a 4G63 )
I could easily see this outselling its Subaru counterpart 5-fold, assuming Mitsu doesn't fold in the states before this hits the market.
