Engine went in my gtp. A few questions
Thursday, April 19, 2007 2:35 PM
I have a 2000 gtp with the series 2 engine and it just spun a rod bearing. My question is.....Would a series 3 engine bolt right up and is there any problems with computers and what not? Any help would be appreciated

series 3 motors are drive by wire , the supercharger and stuff on the top around the s/c are different

the motor would bolt in , im not sure what else if anything changed for the electronics , like crank posistion sensor X count

if you go here - http://stores.ebay.com/Morad-Parts-Company , talk with ed he can set up you with just about anything you need

it's not how fast you go, it's how you get there that counts.

but series II's are cheaper and just as potent. yeah, you get the gen V blower with the series III, but a ported gen III blower is almost as good, at a fraction the price. go to www.clubgp.com and search for ed morad. find his web adress, and request he look for a series II engine for you. i promise you cant go wrong with ed. he's great and will do you well

downpayment being the key word.... but why start a new loan when $1K gets you a perfectly working car that you dont owe on

Well, I doubt it would be only $1k, but I don't know but..

... it would have a 100k warranty
....7 less years on it's chassis, less time on other compenants: brakes, hoses, etc
... XXXk less miles on the odo
....Wouldn't be dealing with any bugs that would arise from switching engines,
....Could be buying a better car
....Less hassle, esp. if this is his daily driver.
