I know that the 96 GA 2.4 auto trans is a 4T60e my question is I am trying to do the B&M ShiftPlus install on his car but of course the wiring is colored differently,I have done this on my 98 cav 2.4 and I have tried grand am forums,google etc;does anyone know what wires to hook the shift+ up to on a grand am?Also is this trans(4T60e) vacuum actuated (module) or not?

Can't help you on the wiring. It's not vacuum actuated, however. That's what the "E" at the end of 4T60E stands for: Electronic.

96 should be the vacuum acutated 4t60
all the 1's ive seen were , they do have electronics , just not as much as the 4t40e's in the J's
bottom line , you cant use the shift plus on the grand am trans
If it is vacuum actuated then you can use the other shift plus that hooks up to the vacuum module,but I found the gray circular plug that goes into his trans but he knows nothing about his car so it's a little hard trying to research someone else's car with little info.

i found that the 97 2.4 GA auto is an elect. controlled trans and he has a 96 SE sedan auto 2.4 w/the switch to turn his ETS on/off.

a friend of mine had a 97 g/a gt 2.4 twin cam , and he couldnt use a shift plus
not sure on the 1 for the vacuum models
I did find out today from the dealer that he does have the 4t60e trans which has a few less wires than mine.but on gaownersclub.com there are a few guys that I guess have it done but there aren't any install pics,in fact that site sucks in comparison to the jbo,they have mods that are like hawks and are on like every thread looking to lock and/or bann someone,Spyhunter was banned from there also.I registered on that site,which has the most rules I've ever seen,and they won't let me post for some reason
