I'm trying to resolve a discussion on another forum:
are there (or have there been) any factory supercharged cars running regular?
are there any aftermarket systems running regular?

You can in certain stock cars however it will reduce the timing to prevent knock.
I wouldn't do it. Whats the point of getting a s/c if you aren't going to spend the extra $3 to get the most out of it.
O, and it will reduce you gas mileage too.

I believe the Cobalt SS S/C owners manual says you can run regular gas but you'll feel a reduction in power.
All modern factory boosted cars require high octane fuel to achieve the best performance.
Wild Weasel is correct, my R/L's manual says the same thing.
