GT500???WTF?
That is just retarded. Carroll shebly just put his name on the car. The real work was done by SVT.

c6z06 is much better bang for the $$$.

Hell I would have picked the charger SRT-8 over that.

Wow, they picked the Ford Mustang GT500 over the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. As much as I'm a Mustang fanatic...I have to disagree. The Z06 would totally spank (for the lack of a better word) the GT500. The Z06 is a much more performance driven vehicle than the GT500. It's a good car but it doesn't deserve top honors in my opinion.

I like these guys because they are pretty neutral on the cars they give reviews of...but that decision leaves me scratching my head.

I'd have to disagree with the best truck decision... sure, the new GM trucks are the best ones ever, but they come with rear drum brakes! WTF man?

Yea but the drums are like 13 inches plus. Rear disc is not always necessary.

im going to have to disagree with you on that one...

base for both the GT500 is $23,000 less provides almost the same performance as the vette... 0.6 sec less to 60... 1.9 less to 100 and 1 sec slower in the 1/4 mile (12.7 @ 114.2 vs 11.7 @ 125.2) and to quote MT "...view from the driver's seat is airy, the driving position relaxed, headroom plentiful. Compromises are minimal..." (MT decemer 2006 comparing viper zo6 and gt500) best bang for buck is the GT500 hands down... and more comfortable/street friendly than the z06...

Uhm I wasn't just talking about 1/4 mile times.

considering the category was best PERFORMANCE car i figured that would be the main focus... but neither was i... that was just a factor that i explained in depth... although most anyone who is looking for a performance car there are certain factors like, brand loyalty, performance, horsepower, and im sure those three outweigh most other factors...

Performance for a sports car would be turning as well not just drag racing.
Drag racing is not the only aspect of performance.

Let me tell you that the GT500 is more of a competition to the base C6 not the Z06 and even then the C6 will edge out the GT500 in the strait line and destroy it in braking, handling, time trial, refinement, practicality (trunk room atleast), sophistication.

I heard that the new shelby GT mustangs will be modified at the shelby factory.

My other car is an interceptor.

Isn't that done now? I mean I thought all the GTs that are going to be transformed into Shelbys are taken to the Shelby factory for modification before they are shipped to the dealers.

Ahh yes, the Mustang Shelby GT, another Mustang that will be overpriced out the anus due to the fact it has the letters S-H-E-L-B-Y on it and not nearly worth the money most people will put down just to have one.
