I think this would make an excellent drag car. Sure it would take alot of custom work but it would be pimp.
Here is one in better shape.
Normal looking one.

I agree.
Always loved that design.
A nice LS2 will do well in there.

Eric, wasn't that the same type of car that almost ate it at the track when you ran that one day?

there was a white one that ran just before you. had lake pipes. they had to stop and clean up the track for the longest time after his run.

Their's a local guy that has a 60's period "gasser" opel gt with a 392 hemi and a straight axle. I've seen a few opel kadet drag cars as well.
I always thought the gt's were great looking cars. They even made a targa top/t top version with a roll down rear window like some of the vettes.
nice project... alot of potential
I've always wanted a 1973 Opel GT with a Ford 2.3 Lima Turbo 4 instead of the stock drivetrain. Would be somewhat "correct" and still go like hell. I love those cars. All the old Opel's really. One I'm looking for right now is my dad's first ever car. A 1963 Prince Skyline 4 door. I did a total doubletake when I saw it in the pics. It wasn't a top of the line model, was rusted all to hell and up on blocks but it was an actual Skyline. When I told him how rare it was now he almost cried. He paid like 100$ for it in 1972.
had a guy who my dad and i used to race with who had a red opel. not sure of the year though. it was a cool car but hard to run cuz of the short wheelbase. he ended up rolling it at the nationals in sonoma,ca.
GO PATS!!!
Would make a good project car.. But it looks a little seasoned. By seasoned I mean it may have more rust then the titanic.
Had to change sig because some dickhead is mad it went 1 letter over size
