Hey look, it's another vintage car with the EXACT SAME WHEELS!

I mean seriously...I understand that they look diecent...but it seems like everybody and their uncle has those damn torque thrust wheels, or something close...I mean seriously...are they (that is car restorers and builders) that unimaginative that they use the EXACT SAME wheels set up that's been used on about nth number of cars?

Get imaginative...geez...

I don't see any wheels here but if they're Kragars on a 50s car or 20s on a muscle car then it bothers me as well.

I guess I should have posted pictures to help my argument

I mean...I grabed pictures from projects spanning almost 50 years...and still those "torque thrust" style rim shows up...they look nice, do't get me wrong...but come one...It's tried and true, i understand that, but I just wish that there were more viable options, or more things that could be chosen from to give cars a little bit different look thats all...oye

you do realize out of all them pics you posted 2 cars have the same wheels

the corvette has hubcaps

the 55 is hard to tell from that angle if its wheels match the 1's above it

you might as well class all 5 spoke wheels into that group , fwd and rwd wheels

That's my dad's '57 Bel-air, got in a wreck and needs to be fixed. I like how they look. His '40 Ford pickup has the stock rims, circular hub looking things, hard to describe.

They're not all Torque Thrust though.... They're the same style, no doubt, but they're not the same wheel. Cragar SS rims on the Camaro and the cream coloured one (not sure what it is). The 442 and Corvette have modern rims.

I think that a couple of them have Foose rims.

The style was from the 60's and 70's, and 5 spoke daisy style rims are still around... They look good to the owners.

And now for something completely different... Click the Minister.

Cragar SS rims make me happy. I don't care how many cars they are on.

Keystone Klassics

Had the same rims on my '69 Torino CJ in Highschool...

Ok, fine...yes...their not the same wheels...but its that same style thats been around for a very long time.

I like the wheels, they have a very classic look, but its the same basic style that you seen on a lot of classic cars.

It was more so an obersvational rant that I want more options. What about a 6 spoke daisy? How about a 4 spoke design...3 spoke? 8 spoke?

It just seems that everybody goes for the 5 spoke "torque thrust"-esque design on the classics.

cream colored car is a olds cutlass

the 2nd roadster has b**d cod's

camaro and cutlass have the crager s/s

442 has a modern billet version

as i said before the vette has hubcaps , original 1's at that

5 window street rods look to the tq thrust ll's , and the chevy might also hard to tell

the 1st roadster has a twisted 5 spoke

I like the look of all the pics. I want that Camaro!

I didn't go that route with my Camaro, but I almost did.

Cragar SS's were out before Torque thrust II's. The torque thrust II's are a "knock off" if thats what you can call it of the Cragar SS

*Looks at sig* Who cares if everyone has them? They look freaking GREAT. What other people do to their cars is what they do, I will make my car how I want it, and I wanted these wheels, that's why I got them. I have loved these wheels for a long time.

Technically mine are Eagle 211's though, so they aren't TTII's.

I think the wheels look good too! Thats the thing...but I wish that wheel makers would expand a little bit...or maybe car modders use a little more imagination thats all.

I mean, I've got a 66 Olds, and I'm gonna try to throw some 6 spoke rims on there...something different.

I really do like the wheels, its more so a statement of dissapointment...thats the main thing...

JerseyKid wrote:What about those polished aluminum steelies that are on EVERY fox body stang?!

thats part of my point...you get one style that looks good...and then everyone follows suite...I mean, I love muscle cars...but at least tuners seem to be willing to take a stab at something different.

Example:

Classic 1967 Mustang Fastback
5-Spoke "Daisy" rims

Looks pretty good...I like it

BUT
Then you have the TD 1967 Mustang Fastback
7-spoke "tuner rims"

I mean, some like it, some dont...but it's different. Thats the thing that I would like to see...I mean, it doesn't matter what I think becuase I'm not a big show car designer...this was more of like a plea to other guys out there to try something different...

Personally, I want to put these rims on the olds

or possibly these

MR7's for everybody!!!!!!! I personaly don't like a lot of things that the majority of people do to cars... notice with the cars on this site that black/polished is quite popular?
I personaly don't think thats a bad thing because in most cases it works... IMO every cavalier should have a fairly simple 5 spoke wheel... cuz they look the best...
Looks to me like a whole lot of people building classic cars thought the same thing about that torque thrust style wheel... and followed the trend cuz it looked the best...

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

I just bought a 20 inch widescreen ultrasharp flat pannel..I'm going to have to subscribe to the high quality porn places now......damn

what the hell

dude tq thrust ll's are a copy of the original tq thrusts

the tq thrusts were a cast 1 piece wheel , the cragar's are a 2 piece steel wheel
