GM quality CTS-V

I have always considered the CTS-V to be one of the bright spots in GM's lineup but after this, I'm not so sure. I guess even an LSX equipped car isn't immune to GM's quality issues.

The owner is one of the guys from streetfire.net and had to limp his CTS-V with 12K on the odo, 200 miles home.

The audio has some swearing so if you're at work get some earphones.

Hmmm, doesnt seem to be a widespread problem. So i guess that it is in fact a lemon and GM should replace it.

The guy is going on and on about the quality, but i mean face it, you get lemons with anyone....

Now that I watched the end, the Differential is a problem, and it should have been fixed by 2006...maybe they said 2007. IMO it shouldn't have made it past 2004, but who knows.

Well, my buddy at work who does finance for GM bought a CTS-V, ahd he's in love with the thing. Hasn't run into one problem with it yet and his car is at about 32000 miles. More then likely the guy on Streetfire has a legit lemon and it should be replaced. Can't exactly say GM and Cadillac are crap, and "this is quality", etc, etc when the CTS-V hasn't had any mainstream problems.

wow, that's odd.

really the CTS-V gets all high marks from the press, the only bad thing ever said was the trim pieces (buttons, i.e. radio, Navi, and so on) loose their colors/numbers fast. Other than that they are considered bulletproof.

What a dumb bastard.

The car may be total and complete utter sh1t, hard times, but that doesnt make up for his lack of intelligence.

What the hell is he doing driving it? Is he stupid?

Nevermind ... he looks, acts, and talks, like an inbred yokel.

The CTS-V does have a known problem with the Rear Diff.

But other than that I don't know of any other problems.

And WTF is he doing 80 in Tifton, GA. I know most of the speed limit in GA is 70 but not through Tifton. lol That is where I got my $326.25 ticket for doing 71 in a 55.

Yes that guy was acting like a total tool.

What a @!#$ tard. I saw this and I can criticize every word that comes out of is mouth. But one thing though, if he ever gets that blue and white propeller (BMW) far up his ass, I wonder how much is he going to like the "German quality" with that better "customer assistance?"

The guy may not be the brightest, but face it.. the car has 12k on the clock, it should NOT be doing that at all.

He did mention something about calling Enterprise but that it would take a while or something.. I would have done th e same thing he did.. I want to know how it went after the dealership looked at it and replaced that stuff.. wonder if it was fixed. Really, I want to know what made it run like that..

I think everyone is missing the point here:
It's not about the CTS. You can get a lemon from just about anyone.
it's not about the owner's lack of knowledge. Plenty of people have more money than sense. In fact, most of us can't diagnose, or properly comment on the things we own.

It's really about customer frustration. This guy is peeved he got a bum-fukk -lemon, and his emotions are showing through. Most people lose all sense of logic when they get emotionally absorbed in something. I would lose all rational thought too if I paid that kind of money for car that could barely take me home.

Sounds like me going round and round with GM on my last 03 LS Sport Cav.

He limped the car home honestly who would have time to go 150 miles out of there way to pick there car up? How many of you actually have time to do that? Ya the guy came off like a jackass but wouldn't you be pissed off if your new car had so many problems with in 12k miles?

Eh I hated dealing with the dealership about my Cavalier but then again it was the dealer that kept screwing things up when it went in for service. The only major issue I had was a slipping clutch from day one and by the time it hit 33k miles the clutch pedal was soft as all hell yet the dealer was insistant that the clutch was fine even though it was soft.

he didnt sound that dumb IMO. very sarcastic which i actually enjoyed. it sucks balls to have your car break when youre out of town though....ive had it happen a few times myself. of course it looks and sounds like he has enough money for it not to matter as he could just rent a car or tow truck home.

CTS's are good cars, I never saw them in fr any major issues when I worked for GM. Nice cars but I guess anyone can get a lemon.

He just bought a brand new cts-v....stop being a cheap ass and pay for a flatbed and get it towed to where u want it instead of beating the @!#$ out of a broken car, with the way he was driving it there, it wouldn't surprise me if it was probably something that he did....one car breaks down and now the world condemns GM...everyone has lemons...

You have never had a car towed a long distance have you? I'm guessing most likely not.. Just because you were able to afford to buy a CTS doesn't mean you have a lot of money. You do know some people actually work there ass off to afford to buy something nice for themselfs.

You know your right, people do work there asses off to afford nice things, but I laugh at people who buy something nice, and then cant afford to take care of it or themselves. Like people on the R6forums who buy a brand new bike for 10g's and then buy a 100 dollar helmet and a @!#$ty jacket that offers no protection because "they cant afford the nicer helmet and a leather jacket".

If buying something is going to keep you from paying for extras that should come up, then you shouldn't have bought it in the first place.

Um even if I had the money to spare I wouldn't be willing to shell out a lot of it to have a car towed home at a outragious amount. So are you saying you drive a J body because you're broke as all hell and can't afford "repairs" on something else?

The whole point is it's a brand new car with 12k miles on it. He shouldn't have to be worrying about having the thing towed home on a flatbed or shelling any money out of pocket for a car he just bought to keep it on the road.
