Ok so i want to buy a 1988 caddy seville. The 4.5L motor is blown. and i want to get another one. BUT...afriend is trying to talk me out of this because of all the air suspension problems and their wiring probelms. does anybody know what the downsides are to buying this car?

Thanks

Kyle

these cars are a wiring hellstorm like you couldnt imagin..i had an 89 eldorado with that 4.5 and yeah, its also pretty slow, trying to work on them is a joke...before that i had never heard of "digital Fuel injection" my air suspension never worked really, but it worked well enough to drive i guess. Before i got the car it had been compleatly re-wired 3 times by Gm dealerships and still constantly blew fuses

unless it's almost free keep looking.... The price of a motor, the nickel and dime stuff, and the time to swap the motor all seem like a waste because the car isn't really worth anything IMO.

You can find a running one in gc for about a grand and that seems like a better route.

I'd pass, not worth the hassle.

That's still stealing....

Find out who owns the property and ask if the car is for sale. Find out from neighbors or get the address of the property and go to the city or county courthouse and they should be able to give you the contact info of the property owners. If the city or a bank(foreclosed home) owns the property they might just give you the car to get it off the property.
