Swapping a light weight and powerful motorcycle engine with a ten thousand rpm redline into a light weight rear-wheel drive hatchback is clearly a fine idea. It took Kiwi Tony McConachy to make it happen. The Starlet kicks out about 180 hp and evidently employs the stock Hayabusa six-speed trans coupled with a Quaife reverse box for both forward and reverse gearing entertainment.

I prefer that engine in the go cart...
GixxerCart uses a GSXR1000R engine, not the GSX1300R of the busa.
Same Idea, different displacement, higher redline.

Sounds mean but looks slow.

Not really, considering the amount of torque you sacrifice. But as others said he's not the first to put a motorcycle engine into a car.

They ran 352mph with a 1520cc 'Busa powered streamliner at the Bonneville salt flats.
1520cc Busa?!?!? That's 200cc up.. That's more than a bit of over bore. Who built that engine cause Suzuki sure didn't.
