Yhea I saw that on CNN too.
This can not be possibly be true as i think it is more hearsay. Simply because that is a sure way to put the company strait into the toilet and more so then now.
But then again Ford did this with the Thunderbird.

My God, I hope Ford is not really that dumb to do something as insane as that. Most of the Mustang guys I talk to are already pretty pissed about the proposed redesign of the 2009 Mustang....adding a wagon and a sedan variant is a sure way to alienate a good portion of buyers that are Mustang loyalists.
there is a BIG reason GM never made the kamback vette's and camaro's
as close as GM got to a kamback camaro was the 71-77 vega wagon
they knew they wouldnt sell the kamback models and customers hated , and very few liked them

um they are talking about making a fairlane
so i doubt they would do that to the mustang
there has never been a 4 door mustang, nevermind a wagon, so they would never do that
trying to keep up with the dodge magnum.

There was also never a 4 door Charger, but Dodge did it, and it looks rather sweet IMO.

I agree. However, that makes sense. The Charger was always positioned as an upscale, almost luxury muscle car combo.... Luxury cars nowadays are mostly 4 doors, so a modern Charger being 4 doors makes perfect sense.
A 4 door (or God forbide a wagon) Mustang, would be the most retarded thing ever. It wouldn't make sense...

Thank GOD, now if they would just get rid of the V6 option and keep a muscle car a muscle car.

if you knew ANYTHING about the history of the mustang, the 6 cylinder was standard on a lot of models in the 60's and early 70's (an inline 6 but a 6 none-the-less)

the mustang isnt a muscle car. its a pony car.
I don't think i could ever have the kind of undying pride or brand/domestic loyalty you guys have with ur cars unless i moved to Germany, Italy, or Japan (sorry over pridefull homeboys, they DO make them better there...)
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

So in your eyes they should have a 6 cylinder option on the corvette( I kow Corvette is considered a sports car) but because back in it's history it origanlly came with one. Or maybe you think that they should bring back the 4 cylinder option, because you know there was one of those in the mustang for a while. All I am saying is that there are way to many soccer moms driving around in their V6 mustangs, hell i see more V6 mustangs than neons or cavaliers. When you think of car like the mustang you think of a car with some power. It was the original pony car, or perhaps the second behind the Corvair Monza which the mustang was rumored to have been produced in response to, but either way, I do know SOMETHINGS about the history of the mustang. I was a fan of the mustang ever since my dad bought his 1984 Capri RS (twin to mustang from 79-86) I fell in love with mustang from that point on. But since I think that they should get rid of the soccer mom option I don't know ANYTHING about them.
the 6cyl is all about insurance and keeping the gas milage standars up for the whole line up at ford
its the same reason GM is advertising the fact they have alot of cars over 30mpg
not everyone wants a V8 , crappy milage , and high insurance
