98+ F-bodys.

So I'm honestly fed up with this Caviler buisness. I don't mean to insult anyone here, but I just have met my wit's end with 'em.

Cheap cheap cheap. That's the only words i can find to describe it.

You guys may like them, but I've owned one for two, too many years.

I like the LS1 Camaro's, and that's what I'm getting. 6 speed manual, t-tops, 5.7 315 HP. And, of course, back to RWD.

I went from a 454 4 speed Jeep to the caviler, you can see why I was a little preturbed. But it'll be nice to be back into a car with some balls and style.

What do you guys think of the 98+ Camaro's/TA's?

I actually had a sale lined up for an SS leather, t-tops, 6 speed, loaded out.... The bastard sold it when I was driving BACK from the bank with the loan. That was a week ago, very dirty of him.

Insurance won't be GREAT, but it won't break me by any means. And I have to have something to whoop up on my friends MR2 Spyder.

Yes sir. He's putting down 250-something horsepower in a car that's the size and weight of a shoebox.

I always wanted an F-body ever since I was a little kid I was in love with the Irocs. I would seriously consider getting a 98+ Camaro SS or Trans Am WS6 but the high gas consumption and high insurance are what prevents it.

When did 30 highyway 19 city become bad gas milage for a 5.7L V8 engine that puts over 300 to the wheels, stock?

x2 never seen one tha got that. not even when my mom had one and she is definitely not a speed racer.

yeah im no speed racer ether and i get 210-230 miles to 13 gallons...which is oddly enough is all that the pumps let me fill it up with even though its supposed to be a 16 gallon tank.

btw thats with about 60-70% highway miles and 30-40%city so im getting roughly 16-18mpg with that mix

i wanna seafoam my car and see what happens lol

The 6 speeds are the ones that get close to 30mpg.

Is your ses light on? because something is wrong if you're getting that bad of mileage....probably an 02 sensor

Yeah, definitely get an ls1 6 speed. Whatever you do don't settle for an pos lt1 like I did.

Bingo.

I get 250mi (or 400km) for 13.21G (or 50L) of gas.

That is 19MPG, mixed highway and city driving.

6spd with 3.73s.

Just so you can properly conceptualize how amazing this is ...

This is on a modified engine, full bolt ons.
This is before the tune.
This is with bent pushrods.

... and she still gets 19MPG for a Performance vehicle.

Something is definetly wrong on your end.

i have an auto with 129k on the clock which is why im thinking fully seafoaming it might help a little, what do you guys think?

i was gonna follow these instructions
http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=534376&highlight=seafoam

jinxedZ so you can only fill up around 12-13 gallons at the pump as well?

Try it.

I seafoam, or rather GM Top Engine Cleaner, all of my cars during their first oil change after purchase.

Helped my 3.1L cavi a lot, and even the LS1 a bit. I also use nothing but German Castrol 0w30.

She takes 50L or 13 gallons at the tank ... thats is because their is a 5-10L and 2-3 gallon reserve. So, technically, after the light comes on you can still drive for quite a bit ... too bad I don't trust GM gas lights.
