HUGE improvement over the current model, at least looks-wise. Very Mazda 6-ish.
I actually had to do a second take, to confirm it was the lancer; It looks like a midsize to me.

the side view looks like a acura TL with a volvo front.
I really like it. when i saw the concept for the new Evo, I thought it was gonna look bad, but they definitely made it work. I would drive it

The new Evo looks god awful, but these lower model Lancer's look pretty damn cool. Also since their getting 152hp, doesn't make it a bad idea to look into to.

will it be a better performer than the last lancer?
because the last lancer was slow as balls and not the best at anything else either
In therory it should be. If they are advertising it as 152hp, that right there blows away the previous Lancer thats power was only 120hp if I'm correct. Then you had the Lancer Ralli-Art which was 160hp. However, they are saying it has the three trims (ES, DE, GTS), so there may be a lower power one in there somewhere. It said the GTS though will have paddle shifters . . . Kinda awkward for a car with a small amount of power like that, lol

Hey the Honda Fit has it too.
BTW the 2.0L 152HP engine is the baseline engine.

I guess it's just me, but I don't like it. I dunno, I've grown fond of the "traditional" lines of the Lancer. I say that because from the Lancer's conception, it's kept relatively the same lines. The EVO as well. If you look at the EVO I, all the way up to the current model, they've never really made this big of a change. I'm sorry guys, but I just don't like it. Maybe the EVO will look better or maybe this look will grow on me. I'm not saying it's ugly, it's a beautiful car. I just wish they'd have left the Lancer alone. I'm hardcore Mitsubishi, anyone that knows me can tell you that, but they've been disappointing hte hell outta me. They took away the balls of the VR4s from North American buyers, changed the Galant entirely and made it one of the ugliest cars I've seen from them , made a sexy as get out 4G Eclipse and then deprived it of the 4G63 yet again...
This just makes me sad.

I kinda like it. I like that it is wider, i like that it is shorter (less overhang FTW) but why do all cars nowadays get taller, 4inches taller. Is everyone 8ft tall all of a sudden? It used to be that if you didn't fit in a small car... (get this) you got a bigger car. Now the small cars have to accomodate every 6'6" 250lb oaf. Ever been in a yaris, i feel like i'm in a fish bowl, that i can stand up in and i'm not that small (5'9 190lbs)
