Check out this car I found on ebay:
ITS Olds Achieva SCX W41
This guy plays this car off like its got a W41 in it yet oddly enough takes pictures without the idi cover on...hmm.
Next notice the cam driven PS pump and the cam position sensor which is not connected(both of which came on only the 2.4L "Twin Cam", not the Q4, Q4HO, or W41) Then theres that 1995 which might be the exception but I dont know, but its still not a W41!
Then notice the HO mani which I'm wondering if hes atleast using a Q4HO head, maybe 086? but who knows....could just be 2.4L TC head with a port matched HO mani on it.
I emailed him asking whats the deal with the motor so I'll let you know his responce when I hear from him.
I just thought this was funny.......hes trying to screw somebody....I'm thinking hes got a cavalier or grandam with a nice W41 in it
Somebody should email him and ask for the casting #'s on the head
EDIT: looking once more I notice the oil fill tube is not on the timing chain housing...meaning the timing housing must be from a 2.3L engine...which must make this a 2.3L Quad 4 but with what cams and towers then?........I'm now confused....sigh. Could it be that he has a 2.3L and decided to run 2.4L cams and towers?
in all due honesty...
it may very well be a hybrid motor.
wtf.. it's confusing to look at.
-Trailblazer SS - not so custom 6.0L - custom intake - custom tune
- (1) 2.4L on an engine stand (1) blown trans (2) good quad trans (1) eco trans = party
I like that he says "2.3 Liter Full Race Quad 4 Engine - (Dyno Time Only)" but does not mention how much power it makes.
BTW, wrong forum.

Yeah...it could be the wrong forum but its a J motor ~ish, its a racecar, but not in a J....two out of three aint bad.
eh...lock it down or move it, either way it is just a pointless thread about stupid cons you can find on ebay.

I called this guy, and hes not bull@!#$ting. Its a 13.5:1 compression W41, stock cams, it put 200 to the wheels.....remember, it had to be built to the rulebook. He knew quite a bit, I had a very long chat with him about the quads. He participated in the first ever stroker. He had tons of info on the stroker. His son owns a motorsports shop, and he was willing to build me a stroker bottom end, and send it to me. They use an external crank positioning sensor. Also, they have full access to all fuel/ignition/limiters in the stock quad odb1 ecus. He said they are fully equipted to write any program for the ecus. He was a good guy, very interesting to talk to, but it sounds like his son is even more into the quads. Unless this guy was bull@!#$ting my ear off, but, I feel as tho I am quite informed, and from what he all told me...he was on par.
gotta love quad guys that dont know anything on this fourm , lol
dead give away its not a 2.4 , no oil cap on the timing cover and the big fugly black box above the intake , the front cam tower is a 95 piece , as is the MAP sensor he is using , it does have a cam sensor which is started in 95
the 95 service manuals kinda lead to it having something to do with it being a 95
the dash is not from a SCX , the 120 speedo and 6700 redline , and lack of suspension control
