im think about ditching the 05 cavy for a 04 red line. good idea? im worried because in the 04 red line, the tach is 800 rpms behind, and i heard it only does 0-60 in 7.1s. i dont know, i only want it because its the closest thing to an ss supercharged. any suggestions?

the 04 ion red line. i just got back from test driving one. the tach is indeed behind on acual engine speed, and thats a tad bit annoying, plus the 6450 rpm redline. other than that i love it. call me a hypocrite, or just a sceptic turned believer. 27,400mi, and they want 14,450 for it.

Yea if you plan on racing get a more accurate tach, and if your gonna be tuning get an A/F Ratio gage pronto. I need one my car runs rich as hell, plus plan on upgrading the clutch the minute you start making more power.

A/F ratio gauges are useless. A wide band would be more appropriate for tuning.

i know what article you read...

800 rpms behind?.....nope

0-60 is 7.1? Who was driving that?

Anyways, i love mine. Great car for everyday use. Quad coupe owns. And when someone wants to play, from a 40 this car is a monster. Id suggest Intake, catback, stage 1, 2.9 pulley, 60# injectors, and a badass custom tune. 270+whp monster. Its fun. Add a catback, larger dp 2.6 pulley and youll be pushing 300 easy.

I'm a mechanic at saturn and I take them to lunch all the time. I must say they are awesome little cars. If you have access to Tech2 you don't even need a wideband because it will give you a very accurate calculate A/F read-out. I have only two problems with the car. The first problem is that the seats feel to loose for a car meant to be fun. I am use to the R32 seats in my golf which hug you like a clingy girlfriend. The other thing I hate is closing the doors, it just feels weird when it closes on another door. I don't like that "squishy" feeling. I always go back and double check to make sure it actually closes.
I guess my problems with it are just dumb things which anybody could get over easilly. Awesome car though.
