Hi All,
Its that time of the year where a heavy snow fall can happen at anytime. My part of the state (NY) has been very lucky thus far with little to no significant snow accumulation. Needless to say, driving in this stuff without quality tires is not fun. For the past 3 winters I have had studded snow tire on my 1993 Plymouth Sundance winter/commuter car. I've put 30,000 miles on these tires because of the distance I travel to and from school everyday. The effectiveness of these tires in the snow has significantly decreased and this year it is likely that another 10,000 miles will be put on the car. I have the opportunity to get a set of 4 Studded Snow tires with approximately 5,000 miles of use on them. I can grab all 4 for as little as $50 total. My original tire size is 185-70-R14 and these are 195-60-R14. I've already done the research and found out that they will offset my speedometer by -3mph. They are approximately 1 inch shorter than OEM size and are also 0.40 inches wider than OEM size. Do you think I should grab these or do you think that they are too wide and would cause difficulties driving/turning? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
i think you should be fine man, i have a friend with 205 on a 14, dont remember the aspect ratio tho for the side wall. and he is lowered and doesnt rub much, only at lock.
id say go for it, worst comes to worst you could allways just sell them and make your money back.
I think you should be fine. I have heard of putting 225/50/15 on them.
