My Lexus SC300

Hey guys, I'll start off with an introduction. I owned a 1999 Z24 Cavalier as my first car, and it served me very well until it was wrecked more than a year+ ago.

The Cavalier:

After the wreck, I decided to go Japanese and I was leaning torward an Integra because it resembled the Cavalier Z24, having the similar layout, and superior to the Z24 in may ways. However, after seeing many friends driving the Nissan 240sx, which is an affordable RWD car with an aftermarket potential, I wanted a 240sx too. Due to high demand from the drift craze, the $$$ for a Nissan 240sx is highly inflated so I ended up looking for an alternative to it. An alternative to the Nissan 240sx that I found suited my needs better than the Nissan 240sx itself.

It is the 1992-2001 Lexus SC300/SC300. It is RWD, elegantly styled, and, best of all, it shares the same chassis and engine series as the legendary Toyota Supra Twin Turbo. At the time, this is not a well known fact. Most suspension parts are interchangable and the engine from the Supra Twin Turbo can be swapped over - at an exorbitant cost of course - with pretty much perfect fitment as both engines are from the 2JZ series. The stock engine is the exact same engine as the Non-Turbo Toyota Supra.

I bought the car from its original owner with 137k miles on the odometer in its stock form in the summer of 2005. Heres she is today:

why go type X in the front if you cant continue it through the car?

i mean type X is competition so id think you would follow it through

The stereo was on my Cav. The only thing I swapped over was the head unit.

Usually high mileage for a Lexus is nothing as long as it is well maintained. It is idling smooth as silk.

Most would want the chassis to swap it out for a different motor anyways. Instead of the expensive 2jz-gte 3 liter twin turbo, may opt for a 1jz-gte 2.5 twin turbo instead because it is a little cheaper

Wow. That is in nice shape.

High mileage is nothing in a Toyota. My Paseo has a bit over 200K, and I put it through hell.

I meant to say, my car DOES have 150,000 on it, and his engine is MUCH better designed. It will last alot longer.

Mileage is one thing, but it depends on the type of driving, I'm guessing yours got a lot of Hwy mileage.

Either way, I like the SC3/400's and the Soarers.

They're awesome cars.

The rims are 19"

As far as mileage goes, statiscally speaking Lexuses are the longest lasting vehicles as long as you are willing to spend the money to take care of it along the way. My car is a 1992 with 156k miles on clock right now it it is still super smooth.

The same can be said with any cars. As long as you keep on spending money to maintain it, it will be good. I bought the Cav with 107k highway miles and it was owned my a wealthy family who bought the car for their daughter and it drove like a brand new car. The took it to the dealer since day one and paid for every service recommendation. I drove it until 120k miles without replacing anythin aside from brakes and a fuel pressure regulator.

and is it lowered.....i'm only nosey becuase i'm looking at the same car. 2 black ones and silver here in L.A.. and trying to figure out what can be done to them. also did you have to replace the headlights? i guess the head lights and tail lights commonly go opaque. i see you have the newer tails so it looks like all lights are new. If it was you that bought them...how much did you pay?
