actually the LS7 is a big block, the 427 is the smallest big block i believe gm makes or maybe its the 396 or 400 or something, but i know the 427 is a big block. its not a big block if its a bored out and stroked 383 or 350 i believe, like the lingenfelters with the 383 and 427's
no, it is based on the Gen-IV small-block architecture. it is a small block. the only big block left in production is the 8.1L in the 3/4 and 1 ton. that's it.

no I wasn't, I was talking @!#$ about J-body people thinking vettes and F-bodys are the end all be all of the automotive industry, that nothing has, is, or will be as good as those cars.
well you honestly need to appreciate the corvette more. It is one of the top cars in the world if you ask me. You can pick up a C6 Z06 for roughly around $75,000, while this might sound like a lot of money the performance vs price ratio is amazing! It can and has beaten a lot of the famous euro cars like Aston Martons, Ferraris, Lamborghinis ect which some run $200,000+

Why is there so much missing from the thread? I only see some of your posts when they are quoted...
Anyways...
Darkstars, you can deny that the vette is well, pretty @!#$ nice. Esepiceclly the Z06. Im not a fan of F bodies, but come on, show me a nicer american car than the vette. (Im talking over all)
*edit*
I see what you meant in an other thread about nicer cars. I thought we were talking more on the performance side sorry.

dude I'm not @!#$ talking the vette, there is not a lack of apreciation, I love vettes I always have, if had the money was after all out perorfmance I would buy the new Z06 cause its a bargain for what your getting..... IF all your looking for is s fast car.
My parents just went to Kerbeck yesterday and they have a $3,000 premium on all 2007 Z06's.
The one my dad likes was $80,000. So your $75,000 is off just a bit.
But it's still an amazing car. In my opinion, I wouldn't want any other sports car.

I'll take a GT40 over a vette any day.
When I see a corvette (cause I see about 20-25 per summer) I see a showoff guy with debt over his head. Also, most of them are guy that have the car to say they have a vette and never push it past half thrttle.
When you see a Gt40 you know it's someone that love power, speed and has money.
I'd rather buy a Caddy Cts V than a vette. More classy and same power/platform. Also, nothing better than a 6spd caddy.
Gilles
2.3 Ho
If I had to take american I would wo with Saleen S7 or XLR-V

I don't want to start anything, but your comment on Vette owners was a little ignorant. Speaking from my own personal experiences; my father has a 2004. He doesn't have debt, actually, the car is paid for. As for 'other' Vette owners, I know plenty that have piles upon piles of Vettes. And speaking of half throttle, please. Until your Cav can beat a Vette at half throttle, leave the ignorance behind.
I'll refrain from comment on the Ford, it's a great car, but seriously; they need to shove a SC on it for any great power. 505HP from a NA 427 is pretty damn impressive. Especially a guy who can go 10.85, stock, with DOT drag tires.
The CTS V is an amazing car, I'll agree with you on that. Did you hear they are taking them out of production? Forget where I read it at.
Oh id definitely love a CTS-V. But its not as fast as the Z06. iv driven a base vette and my grandpa has the V. Its a hard decision. Sport or sport luxury...
Darkstars.....the saleen....oh wow....but I'm thinking more along the lines of something i might own in the next 10 years...

Saleen uses the same 427 V8 ohv that's in the Z06. Correct me if I'm wrong.
No GM vehicle is as fast as the Z06. And come on, an iconic name like Corvette, or a V....

I've never really looked into it but Salleen has always been a Ford based company, I would be extremely surprised if it was packing an LS7 twin turbo

I didnt say I wanted it more, i just like it. You gotta admit the V is just sexy.
The Saleen does use a 7.0l V8, but whether its the same engine or not, i could care less, considering the saleen looks sexy. The power doesn't matter to me considering you could make alot more with a lingenfelter vette for a lower price..
